Wanted some wine when visited Banff. Found this store (which is sorta hidden in a basement). The most arrogant and rudest staff/owner?/Canadian? I’ve ever met. I asked if there is any local wine at all (sure I’m not knowledgeable about wine and Alberta is too cold for grapes but who knows right?). He did not even look up from his iPad, and told me in a cold voice that the Province of Alberta does not produce at local wine. Ok fine. Then I asked what are all the origins of wines in display? He finally looked up but kinda stared and pointed up. That’s when I saw there were signs waaaaaay above one’s head labeling the regions. I can’t believe Banff being one of the most touristy places in Alberta could have some store staff like this but what do I know, I wasn’t the only one treated like that looking at other reviews.

We shopped here and bought a mixed case of red that was recommended by the proprietor. we requested recommendations of red from Spain and Italy that were $25 or less. The wines were outstanding and we felt like the help we received was very good. Would definitely recommend this shop. Be aware that the entrance leads down the stairs to the basement, so that you don’t walk by. It’s a place you don’t want to miss if you love wine.

If you are interested in wine, you must visit this place. They have a lot of wines you don’t usually see. Prices are reasonable, rather cheaper than many other places. The owner’s recommendation on chardonnay was awesome. I was going to buy a bottle but ended up getting three.

ツアーガイドさんにオススメされたお土産のアイスワインを買うために訪問。若い女性の店員さんにワインの場所や銘柄の違いを親切に教えてもらいました。9ドルのミニサイズも置いてあるので配る用にちょうど良いです。アイスワインはカルガリー空港にも置いてありますが値段がここより大幅に高いようです。

Great staff worker. The lady was very helpful when we were picking out our wines. Also very patient as well. Will defenitly be back next year. I probably bought 10 bottles from her. Prices are also very reasonable and cheaper than neighboring liquor stores.

Hidden doorway on the street! They have some great value but quite niche Aussie wines that you don’t see or hear much about even in Australia (Mollydooker Boxer, Rolf Binder cab sav, a nice Rockford) so I knew I could trust the advice on the local wines I knew nothing about. Took a Steele cuvée Zinfandel on the lady’s recommendation. First class wine and service.

Great selection of wines that are not readily available anywhere else. Mark, the owner for over 25 years, is very knowledgeable and certainly knows his products. Be sure to stop by when in Banff.
