I’ve been going to this store since 2010 and I’ve never had a rude encounter with staff or horrible incident until today. The young girl in charge of the self check out option was very friendly with everyone else except my partner and I—a gay couple, she was giving us attitude, rolling her eyes, and got mad because we requested our own bag. I don’t know what her problem was but it ruined our evening.

Standard superstore. Decent selection of PC brand products. Butcher, deli, bakery, pharmacy.

This review is about the whole wheat bread from the in-store bakery.
They have the best tasting bread in town, but it's also among the most expensive, and it stays on the shelf at full price for up to 4 days.
A while ago they forgot how to bake brown bread. It still tastes good, but most loaves look like they were stepped on.

-Update- Over a year since I originally wrote this review, and the baker still hasn't figured out whole wheat bread, and management doesn't seem to care. Nearly every loaf is collapsed in the middle from over proofing and under baking. I'm going to guess they have a full time baker that doesn't understand this, and a part time baker that does, because 1-2 days/week there are a few loaves that are beautifully loaf shaped and slightly smaller & darker.

Doesn't follow Canadian Values.
This location is a casualty of corporates attitude and intent to maximize profits at the cost of rural customers. Routinely people have raised product availability concerns about this location yet nothing happens. This is a smaller rural location that supports a distributed population with only one location. Yet the larger city stores routinely get prioritized and provided all of the products needed to fill their shelves where as smaller locations like this that are the only one get shorted routinely. Please see freezer section pictures to highlight the issue.

Friends in Edmonton and Calgary that have multiple locations have shelves and freezers stacked full. If one store in the city doesn't have a product a shopper could always goto another one. Smaller centres like Camrose on the other hand have to drive an hour to get to the next closest superstore to get products that should have been in stock. Instead it appears that the person who controls distribution is more worried about stocking a store that has 5+ other locations and other brands in the area that belong to the Loblaws group than taking care of the rural folks who help put the actual food on the table.

Another fun feature is the deceptive pricing that superstore uses. Alot of multi buy offers don't ring in correctly. And when the store doesn't have sufficient stock to get all of the products to get the multibuy. They refuse to honor their advertised prices.

Just a further example that this business is less Canadian than the label would lead you to believe.

Response to the "Owner". Calling your customer support number and speaking with the reps is moot. I have brought 2 concerns forward in the past 2 years. Promised follow up and that the issues would be addressed. On neither occasions did your associates reach back out with information or solutions to the issues. So how about you action the information provided here and look into it before rural Canadians feel discriminated against because we don't live in a large metropolis by a company like yours.

I have left this store, in spite of the good prices. Some of the staff, especially at the front desk, have repeatedly been rude and dismissive.

I was here to shop. I found a item that was on sale for 11.99. It was a heck of deal I thought. I was trying to check and all it says with "tide" with wired letter that who knows what anyhow I brought to cash register and cashier called manager and looked like she knows it happened before? As soon as she sees the product see says" this will be interesting". And she called supervisor Tracy. She went check and told they wouldn't honor it since it's different product. But it was the one with display and all there was with these products and big sign says 11.99 on it. In the mean time she called other supervisor to override something else that she did mistake. Suoervisoe"AMANDA" came and hear conversation and said " HAVE TO READ THE SIGN WHAT IT SAYS!" What a attitude she was giving inservice business as a supervisor !! Yes I was trying to read and yes it says tide and with the some initial product description. Sorry I didn't know what that means but please don't bother to apologize that you did FALSE ADVERTISING! All you need to was a little apology instead or pay for what your mistake was.which some store do it for customer service. Obviously your superstore at camrose isn't one of those who cares

I had actually Switched to Superstore from Walmart as my main grocery store due to the low prices and availability of specialty foods.

I’m sad to say that things have steadily gone downhill in about 6 months time. I have always had pleasant interactions from the helpful staff, so there is where the stars have been earned.

The prices are now on average more expensive than Walmart for no difference in quality.

What’s worse is that spoiled food is being sold to customers - I just bought 2 cartons of Lactancia lactose free creamer dated for July 12, and had to dump both due to being disgustingly curdled.

I will now make my best efforts not to shop here at all, unless there is something I can only purchase from Superstore.

The greed is evident and I don’t have the extra money to throw away or time to waste like this, so goodbye Superstore.
