The West Elgin Community Health Centre is such an invaluable resource in our community that I think more people should know about. They offer so much more than just doctors and nurses and their programming is run by caring staff who you can tell love what they do.
I started coming here a number of years back for primary care and have since used many of their programs and I can't say enough good things. They run programs for kids starting at age 0 all the way up to age 18 and they also run programs for adults and parents and even offer childcare during some of those programs which is a huge bonus.
The health centre offers primary care, lab services, chronic disease management, counselling, diabetes management, dietitians, all of which I've used and had great success with. Stephanie in chronic disease management has totally changed my life and my mindset. We've also used a ton of mental health programs for my teenage niece when she was staying with us and it's all been great.
On top of that they run so many community programs, including cooking classes for kids of all ages that are so much fun for the kids (and the parents!) and I'm finding myself really enjoying the programming and getting a chance to socialize with other people in the community.
Julie and Janelle are so wonderful with our sons and Dr. Rycerz is always thorough and helpful. We've also had Shauna do appointments with our sons and she's been a pleasure to work with.
There is always quick appointments if you desperately need them somebody will fit you in. Sometimes you will have to wait for a general appointment but I really don't mind given the amount of service I personally get from here.
Truly I feel that what the community gets from the health centre is invaluable and I hope more people take advantage of all the free programming.

The management of this organization is a joke. They don't even stand behind their mission statement and values. They have no right promoting person centred care, as it is far from that. As a client you basically have no input and you get what you get. Coordinators are completely out of touch with programs clients and staff. Not sure what they do all day. The programs offered do the bare minimal to get by. Don't expect to get anything out of them if you are seeking support.

The care I have received from doctors, nurses and everyone else in between has been incredible! However the receptionist named Becky causes me a headache every time I call... I've been hung up on, calls denied, told to "find another doctor" from her and much more. If it was easy to find a new doctor I would be because of the terrible service I receive when I call.

I am very grateful to have West Elgin Community Health Center in our village. I have always received professional care and good service.There are lots of villages that have no health care and have to travel a fair distance to receive good health care. I have been a patient here since it opened its doors in the 90's. Thank you for all that you do.

The doctors and reception are lazy. They might book a few patients a week, just enough to get that government funding. Better off going anywhere else, seriously might save a life.
