First time there, and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the decor authentic and charming. We had a reservation but we still waited 10 minutes for our table. The staff was attentive but a bit disorganized. If you'd like the full English Tea experience, be prepared to spend $32+ dollars per person. We will definitely return for tea and dessert.

Absolutely and totally fabulous in everyway. The food? So tasty. The service? So polite and sweet. The atmosphere? Like stepping into an English tea parlour in 1955. Was only there a few hours ago and already cannot wait to come back!

A hidden gem in Deseronto you don’t want to miss!

Visiting The O’Connor House English Tea Room (@the_oconnor_house felt like stepping back in time—in the best possible way. The moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted with vintage décor, floral linens, and that cozy old-world charm that makes you want to stay all afternoon.

We had the afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, warm scones with Devonshire cream, and Peach & Ginger tea—absolutely lovely!

Menu also includes quiches, soups, fresh salads & homemade desserts.

Bonus: Don’t miss the antique shop next door—such a unique way to spend the afternoon.

Perfect for a quiet escape or a girls’ day out. Highly recommend!

Was excited to visit this place. The decor was awesome and I loved the antique shop attached to it. Every surface was decorated in memorabilia and collectibles and tea accoutrement. Unfortunately I was sorely disappointed by the food and fare. Despite being a Tea Room (says so in the name!) they did not have a tea menu. Instead, they just had a pile of tea boxes on a sideboard that you could find in any old grocery store. You don’t go to an English tea room just to have red rose and Twinings. I ordered a scone with Devonshire cream with my tea. Despite the menu specifically stating Devonshire cream, it was definitely regular whipped cream out of a can. Would not recommend this place and would not come again unfortunately, although I had high hopes.

This beautiful tea room in the heart of Deseronto is a wonderful place to dine. My partner and I enjoyed a Scottish blend of orange peako tea with an egg salad sandwich with a gluten free chocolate truffle cake for dessert. With my gluten intolerance I felt very seen and cared for when I saw that they had gluten free options and other alternatives for people with dietary restrictions. The tea was wonderful and reminded me of the tea I drank on my prior trip to Scotland. The decision of what tea to get was a hard one for me as there was so many options and variety of tea. When I asked the friendly and caring waitress what options of tea they had she happily listed off the long list and I was faced with a difficult decision of what I would treat myself to. As for the egg salad sandwich it was delicious, the bread was extremely fresh and soft. The chocolate truffle cake was the cherry on top of our vist. It was so rich and creamy, the cake was topped with whipped cream that was definitely made from scratch, it was so creamy and the perfect consistency but still had that home made taste. And finally the decorations were astonishing… all the paintings of the beautiful Queen of England and all of the English memorabilia made me feel like I was downtown London. The atmosphere of this tea room brought me back to the tearooms I visited on my trip to England. I 10/10 recommend this beautiful family run tea room as both the food and the decorations were amazing. I can’t wait to go back and visit when the new antique room will be next to the tea room. this place deserves more then 5 stars and i can’t recommend it enough.

The chocolate cake is amazing. I almost didn’t want to order it because it’s gluten free and I thought that would make it less enjoyable but I couldn’t even tell. It was delicious! The chai tea was spectacular also. My mum had the scone with cream and preserve which was very delicious as well. My dad got a beer so he was happy! The service was good. The only problem we had was when we first arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation they had us wait 35 minutes to be seated. It was not a good first impression for me but my mum assured me it was worth the wait, and it totally was!! I didn’t want to knock stars off for the bad experience being seated because I think it was a one-off because of a large group taking up all the tables. Regardless they should have at least let us know it would be a while. It felt like forever waiting in the antique shop next door, not knowing how much longer. Anyway overall this place is excellent and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice tea and dessert in a very well decorated interesting tea house. Love it!

Gosh what a lovely place! Everything was delicious and they really care about presentation; even adorning plates with fresh flowers. Our 5 year old loved the children tea and really appreciated everything scaled down to his size. Picalilli is amazing! I wish I could get the recipe! Obviously a local gem as it was super busy even on a Wednesday afternoon. Recommend reservations ☺️
