Bought a knock off boogie board here. Tested it before leaving. It wasn't working.

I got another one off the shelf, went up to the register, explained the situation, and asked if I could just do a straight exchange.

The two cashiers looked at each other and said, "Well, she just bought it yesterday."

No, I just bought it right now.

Their supervisor comes. I clearly state, "I just bought this one. It doesn't work. May I exchange it for this one. It's the exact same product but this one works."

She tells me, if I replace the battery in the broken one, it might work. I asked her why she wouldn't just let me exchange it.

She takes my receipt and goes to her boss.

She comes back with a similar product and says, I can take one of those. I reminded her, I already had the product I wanted to exchange in my hand. She looked confused.

She couldn't comprehend what I was saying. What should've been a straight exchange turned into the cashier, talking to her boss, talking to her boss and so on with no one clearly understanding a straightforward situation.

Are people really this dense?

Dear CEO of Miniso,

I hope this message finds you well.

Today, I visited your store at Vaughan Mills Mall with my wife and a friend. I have been a loyal customer of Miniso during my time in China, and this was my first time visiting one of your stores here in Canada.

While testing a fragrance, it unfortunately slipped from my wife’s hand and broke. The response of the store manager was unexpected, as I was required to pay for a brand new, unopened bottle. I complied and have kept both the receipt and the name of the manager for reference.

I am an instructor in organizational and industrial psychology, and this experience brought to my attention a matter that might need reconsideration. It appears that Miniso does not have a policy in place for testers that accidentally break, even when they are already half-used. If such a policy exists, I wonder why the manager seemed unaware of it. If there is no such policy, I question why not. I trust you understand my concern.

I hope your response to this matter is one that brings me satisfaction and allows me to share it positively among my colleagues.

This is a chain store opened by a Japanese company. It has a wide variety of products. It is famous for home furnishing and clothing supplies. The service objects are fashionable and novel designs between young men and women. It is small, light and cute. It is indeed unique and very popular. The clerk is also polite, at least there is no stereotyped face, it really makes people feel unforgettable!

这是一家日本公司开设的连锁店。 它有各种各样的产品。 它以家居和服装用品而闻名。 服务对象为年轻男女之间的时尚新颖设计。 它们小巧玲珑，轻便、可爱。 它确实是独一无二的商品，故此很受欢迎。 店员也很客气，至少没有千篇一律的刻板面孔，真的让人觉得留恋忘返！

I’m extremely disappointed with how the store handled a situation involving my daughter’s friend. The two got separated from me while we were shopping, and instead of trying to find me in the store, the staff immediately took her friend to guest services. I only found out what had happened because I was walking through the aisles, calling her name, when a lady stocking the shelves asked if I was looking for a child. There was no announcement or effort to locate me first, which caused unnecessary stress for both the child and me.

After I found my daughter’s friend at guest services, I went back to the store to speak with the manager. Shockingly, she implied that because I’m white, she didn’t think I was the child’s mother—though I wasn’t, I was the one responsible for watching her at the time. This assumption was not only inappropriate but also added to the distress of the situation. The entire experience was handled poorly, and I expected much better from the staff.

Came here for a class field trip (yeah weird) and bought a boba keychain, was 10.something and regretted it so I wanted to return right as I came back ~10mins later. Man was nice and all so not a 1 star but seriously, no exchange or return policy? I should’ve atleast been able to exchange. Then after I came home I realised it was because the top straw part came off while it was in my pocket or perhaps I just didn’t take a good look when I purchased it. I’m assuming he knew and thus the policy. Low quality product. Broken right as I got it within 10 minutes (or sold like so).

EDIT (12/21/2023): It broke. Scented oil went- which is what it’s filled with went everywhere, tried to salvage with superglue. Not possible. Had to throw out.

Feel like I’ve been scammed. Bought some candles here and confirmed if they were returnable when purchasing. Went in to return them today as they were no longer needed when the cashier tells me the return policy is 7 days only. Seems like something that should’ve been mentioned when I asked about the return policy.

Be careful when you shop here cause they will rip you off by advertising a lower price and charging a higher price. Store signage shows $7.99 with 70% off. Was instead charged $8.99 with 66% off. Price should be $2.40 not $3.05. Brought this to a managers attention, they said nothing they can do with attitude. Sent an email to Customer Service and they replied with a generic email with no action taken. On a side note, the products were poor quality. Will never shop at Miniso again.

I'm very upset and disappointed to this store location at Vaughan Mills,the management of this store doesn't know how to respect customers,I'm their are regular customer and have membersship with them, yesterday I was in the store with my daughter to buy some stuff and my daughter was eating the snacks she brought from home. And while she wasn't finish eating yet, the employee came up.to.us and asked us to pay for the snack and I told her we brought these from home. After that she started mumbling as of I was a thief and after that when I went up to the cashier counter to pay for the actual shopping we did. She was very rude while serving us and this kind of attitude is not acceptable by innocent people who has not done anything wrong. After watching this, I requested them to please check the camera if you doubt me, and then they kept arguing with me and did not check the camera. They made me so embarrassed that I will never suggest this store to anyone else with kids or alone.
Big big shame to the staff at Miniso!!!!
