My room was pretty nice, clean. Lobby , hallways, and stairs could use a coat of paint. There is a restaurant on-site, that is pretty good.

Pretty good location, too bad the hotel is so unaccomadating. Came in as a traveler that got stuck due to delayed flight. Asked very nicely if I could get the wifi to notify my family of my delay (so they dont worry) but despite my polite ask they told me to piss off and then also told me I could not use their phone. I would not recommend this place, there is much better hotels with much kinder staff here and if available I would go anywhere but the sinitarvik hotel. Restaurant wasnt bad but definitely nothing to sneeze at. 🤧 . Good luck

I’m not hard to please and doing business in the north is difficult. Don’t count on the shuttle and the taxi is hard to come by. I waited for hours at the airport and also at the hotel. Rarely is there front desk staff.

Do not stay at this hotel unless you have nowhere else to stay, where to start the locals call it the stinkycarpet for a reason, and no the carpet doesn't stink, but everything else does....

Mainly the service followed closely by the disrepair state of the room, the appalling shuttle service that either makes you feel like you are an inconvenience at best or plain ignores you when you ask for help, best is when the driver hasn't showed up and your told that you are on your own to get back to the airport, and stop bothering them about it.

To the windows that are falling apart when you try to open them due to the stifling heat in the room, or the barely cleaned up rooms where you can guess what the previous guest had for supper ...

The management staff obviously got too comfortable and forgot who's paying the bills in the long run ...Aka the paying customers that sadly have no choice to stay there.

That being said the front desk staff are really trying hard to put lipstick on the proverbial pig here

Really it is. A blight to the Inns north hotel chain ..that are really trying to provide a clean and friendly.service for their customers

Let’s start with the temperature |The heat is unbearable - it’s at least 37-30 degrees. There is no fan. I went looking for the manager to get a fan but this person is as elusive as the muskox in Southern Canada. If we lose a team member to heat exhaustion tonight, I won’t be surprised. |Now for the smell…|Hard to figure out what it is - mothballs, burning rubber, burning diesel, mildew, mold, decay, or decomp. Did I mention the heat?|The aesthetic |Early 80s minimum security facility. Small room, small bed, small shower, small toilet. Have I found myself in a miniaturized parallel universe?|The noise |The heat (see above) leads us to the need for an open window. But alas, no breeze, only noise. Where are these travellers on ATVs going? Can they take me from this infernal heat?|The food|Clearly the Captain knows his stuff from travelling to exotic locales throughout the south - offering such tempting meals as a clubhouse, chicken fingers, stir fries and ribs. No representation of local food whatsoever. It’s almost as if I’d never left the South and unwillingly went to a restaurant because there were no other options - which is apparently the case here. The food was good. |Did I mention the heat?

Had to stay here because the other amenities were booked due to a convention in town. This hotel is terrible and, much like the other reviews, would be the last pick of hotels in this little town. Stayed here more that 5 days for work and housekeeping NEVER managed to get my room cleaned even ONCE! Obviously the management doesn't manage. The room was dated and even the lock on my door was broken and had never been replaced. Doors are paper thin and the hallways often noisy. Never took a bath once I saw how brown the water was ... may explain why there was no plug for the tub. The restaurant is pretty dingy and the food doesn't impress - salad dressing at one meal was rancid. No surprise, the service is poor and food is overpriced. Don,t eat here. Overall, the hotel is a typical run down, poorly managed northern hotel.

Okay, so the food was good and a steal considering it's the North. The staff was super friendly and helpful at both the restaurant and hotel. Now with the good stuff out of the way, let me just tell you the rooms are gross. The furniture was dingy and old. The walls needed new paint, the washroom was rusty and yellowed with age. I thought, "oh well, as long as it's clean" BUT, there was literally a poop stain on my comforter (not my own poop of course). The worst part was that I discovered it a couple days into my stay which means I slept with it (luckily it was dry) and the housekeepers weren't vigilant of dirtiness on the bedding. I hesitated to post this (my stay was from 09/27-10/01/2015) because the staff was super friendly and I didn't wanna create any hostility but if you're a guest, you've been warned.

Stayed here during November 2017. The hotel has two sections and we were in the older section due a lack of availability in the new section. Our rooms had no microwave or fridge but apparently the rooms in the newer section have. ||||The rooms were dated but clean. The TV was an old tube style so don't expect to watch moves off a jump drive. Staff were all excellent. We had a few laughs with the front desk clerk who's name eludes me now. ||||The food in the restaurant was fantastic. The community was snowed in for almost a week and even with these challenges, the chef came through. I think that poutine improvised with those little breakfast barrel potatoes should be a thing every day! Burgers were great too. Everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked excellent. ||||Laundry facilities were available on the second floor of the hotel. For some reason the laundry room smelled pretty terrible (suspect a dry plumbing trap or something). It smelled like pee to me. In any event, our clothes come out of the washer and dryer smelling fine so it wasn't really an issue. ||||The hotel has Wifi but it's not very fast and disconnects easily. ||||This is not the newest hotel in town. The Nanuq which is a sister hotel to this one is the newest in town. One downside for the Nanuq is that it's not really walking distance in the cold to the Northern Store/Tim Hortons. ||||The Northern Store and Tim Hortons are a short walk away which is convenient. The Sintarvik at one time had a liquor license and small bar. I understand they left their license lapse which is unfortunate because it was a grandfathered license. Rankin Inlet like many Nunavut communities is a dry community. Tip for thirsty individuals: there is a legion in town which serves alcohol but you must be a member. If you're going to be there for a while it might be worth buying one.
