What an amazing experience! Enjoyed a six day stay. Be careful however; filling your limit on walleye may be possible by the second day. Seriously. Threw back too many fish that were over slot. Beautiful scenery. The cabins are clean and comfortable. Many amenities are provided. Additional showers and restroom facilities are available outside. It may seem trivial, yet travelling with a larger group (ours was 7) residing in a cabin with only one bathroom; it is Everything. Extraordinary service. If you have the opportunity, have a chat with Renee'. Amazing man. He knows Lake Minnitaki. Best fishing excursion I've had in a long time.

This place is GREAT!
The camp is GREAT and so are the owners and staff.
The location is GREAT...as is the fishing.
I've fished at numerous lakes and camps in northern Ontario through the many years. None compare to Donnelly's, on any front.
That said, if you decide to go somewhere else for your fishing adventure...you're crazy.

Our team had a lovely retreat at Donnelly's this summer. We felt so welcome from the moment we arrived, and the water, amazing fishing and cozy fires helped bring everyone together and get ready for a busy year of work ahead. The food was delicious!

Need an escape from the urban, digital rat race? Drive north to our neighbors in Canada, where at Donnelly's you get a clean housekeeping cabin, easy lake access and the quiet to hear your own thoughts again. ||||Take the family and let your teens experience a week of fishing, reading, walks in the woods and great conversations. This is a no-frills vacation. You get a fully stocked kitchenette in the two or three-bedroom cabins, or bring your camper and get full hook-ups, potable water and shower access as well as gas for your camper or boat when needed. People who love Canadian fishing are probably familiar with Minnitaki and the PIckerel Arm. Donnelly's is located in the western bays. We had amazing weather in the 70s and very little to no wind to explore this giant body of water, including the English River Falls and Moonlight Falls. We caught some monster walleye and Northern Pike, and had our fill of walleye lunches...and the fishing was "slow" for some reason this year in mid-July. A visit from noted guide Bill Ortiz gave us insight on where to fish. Well, my husband and teen daughters went fishing. I went for the artistic escape to read, draw sketches of the falls and enjoy staring at the water from our screened porch. We all enjoyed waking up to Loon calls, watching chipmunks play and view eagles and beaver on the lake. No moose or bear sightings, but maybe next time. ||||Our hosts, the Donnelly's, were very lovely people who helped us with any needs and could provide an American plan with some coffee and dining options if we wanted them. We chose to make our own meals, and the cabins were pretty well stocked to allow that. I baked cookies and made homemade enchiladas one night. You do need to bring your own towels and toiletries, and I recommend bed linens to cover futons or couches, which are aging. Also, bring dish towels, soap, scrubby pads and paper towels. Our cabin actually had two refrigerators; one for food and one on the porch for beverages and/or bait. ||||Overall, the experience exceeded our family's goals of ultimate escape and relaxation from noise and stress. On a rainy day, we took a drive into Sioux Lookout to chat with people at the visitors bureau about Canada's 150th anniversary. We grabbed extra groceries at a large supermarket and drove to the 1st Nation reservation where we learned a bit about the Anishinaabe of the region. ||||Be prepared for a long drive on rough roads to get to Donnelly's off "the 502." This lodge is available for summer and winter fishing as well as hunting and is a fly-in base for smaller island trips. It's the ultimate haven for non-stop fishing and quiet. Families who can handle "roughing it" will love the peace and togetherness.

I give 'em 4.5 stars. My family and I had a great time. My father had some boat trouble and Derrell worked on it all day to get us back out on the water. Way above and beyond anything I expected. We will definitely come back. The cabin we stayed in was a rustic, but clean. And from what it looks like they are working on updating the cabins.

Such a great place to get out and stay at. The people are always tactful and polite and make you feel super comfortable. Also presents fishing opportunities to one of the best lakes in Ontario, Lake Minnitaki. Great service and great stay, evertime!
