I was new to lavenders, they told me white eggs, they were brown. My own fault for not doing my own research and relying on what a supposed hatchery told me.. bought cuckoo marans which was showing dark eggs in the pictures, well I ended up with light brown almost white eggs.. Also bought what I was told was pure bred Ameraucanas , they were Easter eggers. But what was even more disappointing with their response being that “they never claim the Ameracaunas to be pure bred” !! After that I should have stayed away, but nope! I figured I’d grab some meat birds from them (Cornish cross) well that was fun watching half the order die! Not even out of the woods yet either, each day I find another few dead ones, while all my chicks in other brooders are thriving from chicks we hatched! I have been raising chicks/chickens for years, many different kinds, never have a I seen chicks die like this. They have no response so far to this newest problem and had no care to help with past problems. It’s your problem once you receive your order. Very disappointing experience with these people time and time again. I am hearing this from many people, especially this year! I do not recommend using this hatchery and I will never myself use them again. Poor stock, poor customer service, poor information.

Both Rochester and Miller hatchery are the same owners.bought 50 chicks lost half in 2 weeks. Talked to others who had the same problem, in fact much worse. No compensation to me or the others i talked to. I Have been raising meat birds for 35 years. Never buy from them again!

Beautiful Barred rock pullets. Unfortunately they came with coccidiosis and by day 3 we have 20% stargazers and dead flock. This is with quality starter and fresh bite water mix and optimal environment temperature and dry conditions.

Bought 70 chicks (RIR) all are in good health and going strong. Easy process, delivery was great. 10/10 will use again. The only reason for the missing star is it would be nice to have RIR’s at 18 wks available. They only have their 1 year olds or chicks available from what I could see.

I got great quality chicks and great customer service.
Edit: Over a year later, these birds are still healthy and strong. They have now produced a bunch of healthy chicks as well. The resiliency of Rochester birds are so far above and beyond other hatcheries I've used in the past. I know they have a great quality of genetics and must take care of their birds well. Still very satisfied!

We have dealt with Rochester Hatchery for years for our small flock needs. Have purchased turkeys, meat birds and dual purpose birds from them and have been very happy with the quality of their birds. We have our birds sent to us by mail with overnight delivery directly to our closest post office which is much better than trying to send them to your home address. The post office workers are always happy to hand over our box of "peepers" and we put them directly into our preheated brooding area. Thanks to Rochester Hatchery for being there for us!

I have just bought broilers chicks. I buy chicks from this hatchery every year. This year is horrible. 2-3 chicks die every day. It looks like they have coccidos.

Great service! Have been using for 2 years. Had 1 set of meat birds die out of countless orders, but mostly had good luck and have ordered quite a variety of their breeds in last 2 years.
