I got my wedding dress online and it was about 3 feet too long all the way around.
It was last minute and I took it to El Zorro asking for shortening in the front only, I wanted the back to remain long.
They got it done a week before my wedding and it was absolutely perfect.

Sam is absolutely phenomenal at what he does and is such a pleasure to work with! He did an incredible job with my wedding dress on a tight schedule after I experienced multiple delays from the bridal shop in delivering the dress. My stress level went from through-the-roof the day I entered Sam's shop to minimal the moment we had our first conversation because it was clear to me immediately that I was in good hands. He's a lifelong tailor whose parents were dress makers and tailors themselves and the wealth of experience really shows. Not only is he great at what he does but he is also a very kind and friendly man who put my nerves at ease each visit and made the whole experience enjoyable instead of stressful. The dress went from a wedding dress to MY wedding dress with his alterations and I truly cannot recommend El Zorro tailoring enough. Thank you so much Sam!!

Sam altered my daughter’s grad dress this year And it came out better than expected. She had a corset style gown with a zipper back he transformed into a full lace up back. It’s absolutely stunning. And even made a custom bow tie for her date! Thanks again for your incredible work!

This man actually saved my wedding from going seriously downhill - there are not enough good things I can say about him. Thank you Sam for coming to my rescue after such an insane experience, I don't know how you did it!!

I travelled to the area from Calgary, AB for my wedding and just days prior to the event, I was in need of emergency wedding dress alterations. My "seamstress" in Calgary had destroyed my dress, cutting the tulle fabric in several areas where it should never have been cut, tearing the straps, and very poorly finishing the seams in the bust. Many people had told me they wouldn't be able to save the dress, and it would not look the same as the original dress I had purchased, if anything at all could be done to salvage it.

I brought my dress to Sam on Wednesday evening before my wedding (Saturday), and he told me he would do everything he could to save the dress. He also made me take photos of everything the seamstress had ruined, which I was really thankful for because I wasn't thinking of it in the moment, and I'm glad that I have them.

I don't know how he did it, but I got my wedding dress back Friday afternoon in completely transformed condition. You couldn't even tell what the previous lady had done to it, and it looked so close to the original dress, you could hardly tell a difference. In such a short amount of time this man hemmed my dress, added a bustle, repaired the straps, repaired the seams, and added cups.... he is literally a WIZARD!!! This was not a simple dress either, as several other places had already refused the job on such short notice due to the amount of layers it has.

Sam takes his job incredibly seriously and has so much respect for his craft. My only regret is not taking my dress straight to him in the first place, because I know if I had it would have fit like an absolute glove and I never would have had such a nightmare experience. Still, Sam did absolutely everything he could in such a short amount of time and the dress fit well all things considered. I have no bad things to say about him, as he salvaged this dress and made it wearable at a time where I thought I was going to have to go find something else to wear two days before my wedding.

If you are in need of alterations, or considering working with him at all, don't hesitate. You will have complete confidence in his work. As a bonus, I found his prices to be incredibly reasonable! It is rare to find such expertise at such a reasonable price point.

Thank you SO much, Sam, your talent saved my wedding dress, and I'm so happy I was able to get married in that dress. You made it beautiful again and I have so much respect for your talent!!

I dropped my dress off over 3-4 weeks ago to have a zipper replaced & the owner said come back June 5th - no time specified just the date. I went this morning to pick it up & not only did he not remember my order, it also wasn’t done. I expressed my disappointment as my event is tomorrow & my dress will not be finished. He was unkind about the entire situation and said come back in the afternoon. However that was not possible as I was am set to leave out of town today. I then reminded him that he never gave a specified time, only the date. And seeing my dress was dropped off 3 weeks prior - on a professional level, my dress should have been completed by the date given. And if he wasn’t able to complete it by the date he had given. He should have called me or been honest from the beginning, so I had time to bring it to another tailor in Kelowna. Extremely disappointed in the services offered.

Sam took on an alteration of a 3M reflective jacket and hockey jersey I needed BIGGER. Not easy, all he asked is I source the fabric. When I did, he sewn the articles exactly as I asked, and the outcome was even BETTER than I imagined they could be.

Blown away on his craftsmanship, and he has a life long customer in me after taking on these projects no other tailor would do.
