Northumberland Mall - Cobourg, Ontario

Basé sur mon expérience, le Northumberland Mall à Cobourg donne une forte impression de désuétude. Les couleurs de l'intérieur semblent tout droit sorties d'une autre époque, ce qui crée une atmosphère assez particulière.

L'endroit est étonnamment vide, avec très peu de commerces ouverts (je dirais environ un sur dix). On a l'étrange sensation de se promener dans un espace liminal, comme si le temps s'était arrêté et que l'on venait d'arriver après la fermeture de tout. C'est une expérience un peu surréelle qui rend le lieu assez mémorable, mais pas nécessairement pour des raisons positives si l'on cherche à faire du magasinage.

Awesome Childhood Mall, So Much Memories. Has Bowling Alley, Metro as Grocery Store, Movie Theater, Jewelry Store, Clothing Stores & Harts, Vision Store, Sport Chek. They are trying to keep mall going! On outside they have Giant Tiger, Dollarama, Michaels, Staples and More!

This is a really sad mall. Unless you are going to sport Chek, the blue jeans store or just walking for exercise, this mall has very little to offer. The likes of mail order things has killed this mall. Oh, I almost forgot about the movies. This is something else to do at this mall.

Omg I love this place so much but can you please get a redevelopment in the inside? The roof looks like it’s about to collapse and it worries me. When you look in the inside of closed and not used stores in there the roof is collapsed or abandoned. I also love Rainbow Cinema and I don’t want it to collapse. So please don’t destroy the place or go out of business 🙏. (I also love how Rainbow Cinema sells their movie posters or other posters and the art when you go up the escalator. The classic bear with the backwards red cap and overalls really captures my eyes. I think he’s the mascot but I don’t know.) 💝

Mall seems to be waiting for redevelopment, rarely any new businesses enter or if they do them just for short term. Cornerstone businesses have all left, just a decline in this business model. Parking is a nightmare or walking through parking area, use Extreme Caution.

Mall itself is clean, washrooms available, Metro attached but you have to go outside to enter. Exterior stores are all reasonably located if you're driving, please see note about trying to walk.

(Ghost of a mall) 98 percent empty stores… the building is literally falling apart… holes in walls… roof coming down… honestly if there wasn’t a Bell Store, an Optometrist and one or two other things I would swear I just wandered into an abandoned mall LITERALLY (I mean it basically is just an abandoned mall). Saw 1 person wandering and 1 security guard wandering that was the foot traffic. Saw one of those old sticker vending machines I remember from the 90s and just for jokes threw a looney in half expecting it to just eat it… bingo did just that! Was a laugh anyways! This mall is comically bad… on the plus side got $5.65 tickets for Rainbow Cinema for a movie later… last checked no other tickets were sold online. From what I could see it looked like a straight 90s throwback with outdated (in the best way) murals on the second level. Hopefully the roof doesn’t collapse on the second floor!
