I visited this store today for the first time. While the variety of products was impressive and the fruits were fresh and high quality, unfortunately, the store did not feel welcoming at all. The cashier’s attitude was not very friendly, and the overall atmosphere made me feel like customers were under strict security surveillance.
I understand that, unfortunately, shoplifting can be a concern, but security measures should be more discreet so that paying customers do not feel uncomfortable or unsafe. For this reason, after purchasing a few items, I decided to leave and will not be returning.

The Medovik (Honey Cake) and pastries at Bathurst Village Market were good.

The Medovik (Honey Cake) which is made of honey layers with sour cream and custard was awesome. Surprisingly, the honey cake was not too sweet and not too heavy. It had the perfect combo of honey, sour cream and custard in the cake 🙂 Would definitely recommend.

For pastries, we tried the Apple Turnover, Maple Pecan Turnover, and Cream and Raisin Bun. All three pastries were fresh and delicious. Our favourite was the Apple Turnover.

I enjoy shopping at this store but unfortunately I had a second encounter with expired food which expiry date should not be hidden with a sticker. First it was a cheese cake bar and now this. I still recommend shopping here as you can get lots of European goods but shoppers, please pay close attention to the expiry dates of everything, as I did not think that the real expiry date would've been hidden behind a sticker.

Great bakery and interesting stuff at this market. They even have alcoholic chocolate which is soo good. They also had kinder ice cream which I never seen. Highly recommend the croissant, its very flakey and delicious

Update: the plum and apricot flavoured chocolate is also good

Update 2: so is the cheese cake and they have this gorgeous looking macaroon called the queen macaroon.

Every Friday I do my weekly shop at Bathurst Village. My purchase includes prepared foods, produce, meats and bread. Initially, when you walk in, you can see a large selection of good quality fruits and vegetables. The entire store has a good selection of various items. I truly love the large selection of fruits.

The prepared foods are always fresh and delicious. The familiar counter staff, Victoria and Zoya, are always smiling, pleasant and warm. The staff are quick and always offer any new item they have on the menu. The soups and blintzes are amazing.

The prices are extremely reasonable. Last week, I purchased Gefilte Fish and Fish patties that were very tasty and reminded me of my childhood.

The service and quality are better than Pusateri and Summerhill.

The staff at the checkout counter are pleasant. The familiar faces, Diana and Noza, are always very kind. They know I travel from downtown so they take the time and effort to pack up my groceries in an efficient manner.

I am always recommending Bathurst Village to my friends who are now also regular customers. I hope that the owners will continue to keep this tier of quality and recommend that everyone take the opportunity to try Bathurst Village.

Very rude staff. I was treated like an intruder, showing me disrespect and humiliating me in front of everyone. It happened twice but the last time was especially rude. I came to the store 15 minutes before closing and wanted to buy some prepared food. There was only one man in front of me and out of 3 women working there only one was serving. I was completely ignored by the other two. I didn’t say anything, patiently waiting for my turn. At the time when a man in front of me almost finished his shopping another customer approached the counter and took a number from the dispenser putting him in line. I realized I forgot to take it. When he took the number, the other woman working there decided to serve him prior to me. I asked her if she didn’t see me waiting. She answered that they don’t serve clients without a number and ignored me. At the time when I was asking her this question another customer came and took a number. They whispered to each other to not serve me and to serve the other man. I decided, without making any comments, to walk out of this store leaving all of my groceries behind. I will never go to this store again and asked my wife to not do shopping there ever again. I was there on multiple occasions before and I noticed that the staff were a bit rude but this situation exceeded any acceptable norms of respectful conduct. It was a passive aggressive attitude that made me feel uncomfortable, upset and humiliated.
