I had a very disappointing experience at Value Hunt. After multiple phone calls over several days confirming that a chest freezer was in stock, my husband and I (with our newborn) went in person to purchase it. Over the phone, we were quoted one price, but once in-store, a woman (likely Anjali) added a $30 warranty fee — and insisted that if we didn’t purchase the warranty, they wouldn’t be able to do anything if the freezer didn’t work. That alone felt like a red flag, but we needed it to store breast milk, so we paid extra and took it home.

When we plugged it in, the light turned on, but by the next morning it still wasn’t cold. My husband went back within 24 hours to return it. Despite having the receipt and the freezer clearly not working, they refused to process a return and kept insisting "it works" because the light turned on. The woman continued yelling that “it works, it works” while my husband tried to calmly explain the issue to another associate. They eventually said we could exchange it — but didn’t even have the same size in stock, and tried to push a larger model on us that we don’t have space for.

After a long back and forth, and only when it was clear that the unit truly did not work, they reluctantly processed a refund.

This was a complete headache. Unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful. You might get lucky with a cheap deal here, but if something goes wrong, don’t expect decent service. Not worth the stress — especially when dealing with essential items. I would never shop here again.

I came here just to buy a shoe rack and left with more. This retailer is the best kept secret and should not be. If you shop Amazon or Facebook marketplace think about coming to Value Hunt instead. Although the store is not aesthetically pleasing, it more like warehouse , there customer service is 5 star plus.

They do not pressure you in the least - they work with you to find what you are looking for. Show them an picture of what you are looking for and they will do their best to show you what they have. My shopping consists of Amazon & Facebook market place when it comes to home & cottage and now that has changed I will begin with Value Hunt first.

Always bring a picture of what you are looking for as the warehouse setting - you would not find it - however they are so organized that they will find it.

This was an unexpected very pleasant experience for me. I will shop there frequently as the need arises.

Dealing with such kind and honest people makes the experience a good one. Although Google's highest rating is 5 star - I give the customer service experience a 6 star.

.. I saw a shoe rack I wanted to purchase on marketplace that said it’s brand new. I messaged the seller and they got back to me within a few hours. I responded asking when can I pickup. They did not answer. 2 days later I sent a question mark and they message me back the next day saying it’s available and advised of pickup location which is a business location with thier hours and advising to call a certain phone number to confirm the item is there before picking up. I called the number and the person asked to send a picture of the item I am talking about to make sure it’s there. They never got back to me. The location is close to my home so I just decided to go in. I got there and the box was rattling. I said it sounds like there’s some screws loose or something and they did open it for me and I noticed the wooden pegs, bolts and screws were loose. Right there I should have went with my hesitation that something wasn’t right. I asked why it was like that, like did someone return it etc and they didn’t give me a straight answer. Just said would refund or exchange for another one or do a store credit if something is missing. There was a bit of a language barrier so I just left it as that, as I had my kids and it is super hot outside so just wanted to get home. I had cash, she said oh did he tell you it’s plus tax I said no, she walked into the other room came back and asked if I could do e-transfer. I did the e-transfer and it came back saying unable to send. I go to the car to get my debit card and paid. I get home and open it and the first pieces I took out is damaged
. And noticed a screw in there was stripped so can’t even use it
 I go back to the store and I said well I know why it is all opened because it’s damaged and they seemed confused. I showed them and as I was looking for the piece I actually noticed another wooden peg snapped in so even more broken then I thought. Didn’t apologize or anything, I said you don’t have anymore of these do you and he said no not the exact one. I said I would like a refund then. He talked to the other lady about how much to refund, he handed me his phone, I said what am I doing ? He said put your email I said oh you’re e-transfering me it’s not going back onto my card and he said yes. He did the e-transfer, but had the dollar amount and cents backwards
. So had to send another amount. Then said okay did you get it and I waited a second and said yes and he said okay. And I said okay. Kinda waited for second for an apology or something and nothing so I said Bye and left

I bought a microwave from Nishant and Anjali, and the whole experience was wonderful. They were both very friendly and helpful throughout. A special thank you to Nishant for going out of his way to help me load the microwave into my car — it made things so much easier. Highly recommend dealing with them!

I found this place through kijjji. I needed a fridge asap at a good price .. I messaged them. Got a response almost within 5 min. I ended up going there and bought a better fridge than I went there for because of the Great deal. Pradeep his brother and Mohammed were very helpful. We ended up also buying an outdoor patio set because once again what a deal.!!!! Made the wife happy 
I highly recommend this place. Thanx again guys ..
