Ucluelet’s public amenities & surrounds offer not a gem or two but a whole treasure trove of wonders.
Of course for starters there is the stunning surroundings with its great natural trails & beaches, which are easily accessible & these gifts from nature are mindfully used & have been greatly enhanced. There is the Wild Pacific Trail, which a Ukee local known as Oyster Jim, brought an added magic to. Since that inception there have been many further enhancements. Close to it on Matterson, is the wonderfully designed Community Centre, which has a playground for small children, then next to it play places for all ages. These included the inspiring skateboard park established in 2008, then upgraded & extended. It draws all ages & most times there is a group of people enjoying this free amenity. Also in this activity cluster is a basketball court & here, too, one can see people playing well into the night, under flood-lighting.
Across the way is a BMX track & now newly opened, a disc golf course. All are gems & all are well frequented.
What treasures there are in Ukee — as the ocean village is affectionately refers to by locals — free for all, conveniently located & mindfully designed & crafted.

Best bowl ever. Definitely collided with my buddy Jeremy at top speed in it. And definitely face planted from five feet only to get up and shred another lap. Yeeee haaaa cowboy. Ukee for life

State board park is in a handy location beside in residentials and hotels area . Its also close to the wild Pacific trail and blackrock resort and big beach. Got lots fun areas to skateboard and chill . Its next to a community center too .

Best bowl on the island, one of the best ever! Endless lines, nice big transitions, buttery spine and more hips than you can shake a stick at. Go surf some Crete curls! 🤙
