This restaurant did not take reservations which is fine. They told us it would be a 45 minute wait so we agreed to wait. It ended up being about 75 minutes. Had we known we wouldn’t have waited. Then it took another 30 minutes just to get our appetizers. The cocktails were decent. The steak I got was cooked properly (medium rare) but there wasn’t too much of a sear and it tasted bland. The other person I was with ordered a scallop sandwich which was cold when served. Overall a bad experience and I would not recommend it.

Big Beach Lounge has spectacular views! There’s a 360 degree view of the ocean that is absolutely amazing.

We ordered the half chicken and veggies. The chicken was okay, it was a mix of dry and juicy (mostly dry). The veggies were pretty good. Overall, the dish was a good price and filling for two people.

The staff are also friendly, served us pretty fast, and we were seated immediately.

Pretty poor experience here this evening. I tried to go to Currents, but they were fully booked. Was seated by a very sweet hostess and given a beautiful seat outside on the patio. Waited nearly 15 minutes and nobody came, eventually my server did and told me she didn't see me come in. Food was excellent. Server checked on me once and then proceeded to forget about me again after I was done eating. I saw other people around receiving a lot more attentive service (being offered blankets, dessert menus) but maybe because I was a single woman of colour there is some serious unconscious bias happening here. Please treat all your paying customers equally. Thanks.

Stayed at the BlackRock Resort and had the chance to have dinner here on one of the nights.

The food is very delicious and well priced. Service was friendly and quick despite the place being quite full when we arrived during dinner time on Friday.

Tried a few cocktails, I wouldn’t say they are outstanding but decent selection.

I highly recommend visiting during the afternoon when it is light out to enjoy the ocean view.

My only feedback is the food is quite heavily seasoned and probably can use a touch less salt/dressing/fat.

Staying at the hotel as a guest and wanted to order food for takeout. I called the restaurant to enquire about vegan options and the server was kind enough to check repeatedly with the kitchen what could be made vegan. Apart from salads, the risotto can be made vegan and is quite yummy - it has mushrooms and cauliflower. I must say the bill was a little pricey for the portion size especially considering there is no room service and you have to pick up your food from the restaurant yourself.

I hope there will be more options in the future.

Visited the Big Beach Bar and Lounge on three different occasions while we stayed at the resort. We were biased towards the wings. Great wings and a view, can't beat it. The staff, Nathan and crew, worked all three days we were there were great. Very welcoming, friendly, and made tasty recommendations. We had the Wings (x3 - maybe the best we've ever had), Pakora's, charcuterie, and field salad. Of course a few drinks along the way. The Ucluelet Cider is one of my new favorites. Protip: order the Maple Hot Wings. You will not be disappointed.

Came here and had to wait in a short line but they got us seated very quickly. Despite how busy it was they were sending out drinks and food quickly. Everything was tasty and delicious, definitely the place to eat if you are staying at Blackrock. I had the chickpea burger, very happy with it. I'd eat here again.
