I recently took the Marine Voyager ferry from Burgeo to Francois while on a month long vacation in Newfoundland. I would just like to say that it was one of the true highlights of my entire trip!!

The ride was exceptional, hugging the beautiful and ever changing coastline of southern Newfoundland. On the way up, we saw whale spouts, and the scenic stops in the outports of Ramea, Grey River, and Francois were each unique and breathtaking!!

The staff onboard the ship were also very nice and accommodating, allowing us to freely roam the ship to get different perspectives during our journey. I enjoyed standing up front at the bow of the ship during both voyages. Special mention goes out to captain Brian Durnford, and mates Woodrow Skinner, Ches Durnford, and Fred Harris whom I had the chance to speak with, and all of whom were very friendly and helpful.

The cost of the voyage was very reasonably priced, and the complimentary coffee, tea, and water were much appreciated, as well!!

Kudos to all responsible for providing this extraordinary service to Newfoundlanders and tourists alike. It was an unforgettable experience and one that I will tell others to try in the future.

This ferry service is a total disaster: not any information about the procedures to embark, even not any information about the schedule, and no one to give us information...
Moreover, the ferry is old and grubby, and the staff is rude and does not pay any attention to passengers.
Very bad experience.

Clean washrooms. Parking is tight. The process for securing passage on the Grey River/Francois ferry is not posted and not well understood by many in Burgeo. Speak to the Captain!
