I just did my pool dives with an awesome instructor her name was Rita, she was so patient with me and my mask issues and she explained everything so well and really help me be confident in the water. Also, big shout out to the awesome DM Cindy that was great at encouraging us new divers and helping us with gear set up and explaining everything to us and calming me down when I got too much water in my mask. Thank you so much to both of you for the awesome experience and the fabulous weekend. KDS is the best place to be certified that's for sure. Thank you Jeff for having great instructor and Dive masters that teach the love of diving in such a great way. See you all at the open water in June.

Last May here in Oshawa I started a PADI IDC program to work toward a dream I have had for many years to become a PADI diving instructor. I was ready to work as hard as needed to fulfill this dream and was ready to do whatever was needed to pass all the requirements.
A week into the program I was asked to leave due to a 50% in a physics exam which was just a pretest to the real test which would have been months away. I was told I could come back in August and after they took my money they basically closed the door.
I was crushed, embarrassed, upset, hurt and was second guessing even working toward this goal. Before I had a chance to feel sorry for myself I had many friends and even a few people in the same position as this instructor that said I was not good enough tell me not to quit.
I picked myself up and looked into a new location to do a new PADI IDC. I just completed that this weekend at Kanata Diving Supply and I not only passed everything I did extremely well. As the only student on the course coming into the PADI IDC as a non PADI diver I knew I had a huge challenge on my hands.
My goal was not to get perfect but to work toward being the best instructor I could become and to be able to pass the IE (Instructor Exam). I guess I really got lucky with my second choice because Neil O’Hare and Kanata Diving Supply helped me do just that. Not only was the instructor a great teacher he was also a great leader.
The students as well were all amazing and understood the challenge I had taken on and after they got a chance to know me they were amazing in helping me learn the PADI system. It was fast and furious and so many new things to learn but I was the sponge and tried to take in as much as possible.
It was a 3.5 hour drive and it turned out to be worth every minute spent getting there. I want to thank the staff at Kanata Diving Supply for taking the chance on me and allowing me in on the PADI IDC at the last minute you and your staff has helped make this dream possible. Without the support from these people I would have never been able to do this.
Kanata Diving Supply ROCKS!!!!!! I can’t tell you how honored I was to be taken in by this dive center. They are family there and it’s worth the drive especially something as important as the PADI IDC. I wish I was closer I would love to dive with them on a regular basis.

I began diving with NAUI in 1990 and have been a customer of many shops... KDS is a great, full-service SCUBA shop. I found them in 2019. I had a lot of stuff to replace after a house fire. The front staff (Kayley and Charlotte at the time) compiled several cost sheets which helped me move my insurance claim forward. Jeff and his staff were very helpful with product advice and sourcing equipment. I participated in the advanced OW and Enriched Air training after that. Both courses were well organized and the instructors were friendly and knowledgeable. When new staff are brought in there is (naturally) a learning curve. I have ALWAYS found the staff welcoming and ready to consult Jeff or another source to fill a knowledge gap and answer my question(s) of the day.
Update 1: I completed the Rescue Diver course in July 2022. The two instructors (Ginny & Dave) were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and dedicated as were the four additional DMs who supported the training and evaluation exercises. An awesome course!

A 12 year son asked if he could scuba dive. Months later we are in Key Largo doing the trip of a life time. Kanata Dive Supply was with us for the full journey to not only make the best trip ever for a 12-year old, but to start a new chapter for someone who now has confidence to follow his dreams. Thank you Kanata Dive Supply for providing the opportunity and helping mentor the young generation! The staff are absolutely amazing!!!

Best dive shop in Ottawa! Did my open water certification through them a few years ago and purchased a new BCD package with them today. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and took time to make sure all my questions were answered. Happy to support a local Ottawa business who takes great care of their clients.

Update October 2023
I had a difficult time when I attempted to complete my open Water Dives in the Dominican Republic. I ended up sick and the Dive shop would not refund my fees. Jeff and team at Kanata Dive shop were amazing. They set me up for success and even allowed me to complete the pool sessions again because I lost my confidence. I recently took a dive trip to the Florida Keys with my partner who has been diving for years. He was very impressed with my training. He said I didn't look like a newbie at all. The instructor here make sure you really understand your buoyancy and ensure when you are out on the reefs you understand the importance of protecting them. Thank you so much for preparing me sooo well for my first dive vacation!!!

The service is great.

I took my lessons through them and the instructors are amazing and patient!
