I went into the store hoping to buy a Sebo vacuum, as I had an issue with my Miele. I was so adamant about buying a Sebo vacuum as they are top notch. However, they do repair vacuums as well, and for a low fee of 39.99 + tax to diagnose my Miele, it was worth the cost. If I didn’t want to repair it, that cost of the diagnosis would come off a vacuum that I would purchase from there - really no risk!

I dropped off my Miele in the morning and by lunch I got a call saying it was fixed. They could have sold me on a Sebo D4, but they acted with the utmost integrity. They ended up saving me easily a $1,000.

When I am finally ready to buy that Sebo, or any other vacuum, I will definitely purchase it from here.

This is a great Canadian business to support that has real Canadian values - honesty and respect. This is a local business we must support! Well done Kanata Vacuum and Sewing!!

I took my wife's Singer sewing machine for service here several months ago. The red lights were flashing and it seized. First time to this place. A service fee around $45 to have it looked at. I found it odd that they started showing me other machines in the store but OK. We don't need another as my wife has another Singer 'old faithful' but I didn't tell them that part. A couple days later, I get the call with the results. The machine is toast and needs a new module (like a motherboard). They tell me it's not worth the cost to fix it. Fine but I am sceptical. I picked up the machine, paid the fee and they attempted again to sell me another one. No thank you. Fast forward to last weekend. I took the machine to another place (in Sudbury on a visit). No charge to analyze it. The same morning, it was fixed all for $110. Amazing service and honest people.
Shame on Kanata Vacuum and Sewing centre. Always trust your instincts. I don't normally write reviews but this one warrants it. As my dad would say, ' I went twice; the FIRST and the LAST time.

Great experience with Kanata Vacuum & Sewing Centre! We got our central vacuum from them. It was easy to set up an appointment, the person installing it was extremely knowledgeable and the job was done quickly and well. Highly recommend!

Central vac hose was breaking down (frayed cord, broken handle, item jammed in the hose) therefore I needed a new one. I did some research on prices, brands, parts, etc.....decided to try a local business because every part of the central vac I have is a different brand so I was concerned about compatibility. Was helped by Ian the owner. I chose to purchase a new 35ft hose and hose sleeve plus he altered my power head to be compatible with the hose. The hose and sleeve were a very reasonable price plus I knew everything would work once I returned home unlike if I had purchased online. No issues with communication, the service he would provide nor the outcome I was looking for. Simple, efficient and fast. Thanks kindly Ian.
