I was looking to buy some gifts and souvenirs with native artwork to take back to Australia, without the exorbitant Vancouver airport prices. I was also wanting to support local native business owners.

This ticked every box. I am so grateful!

They have an amazing range - I wished I had more time to go through everything.

They have excellent and accessible prices. I bought quality items for affordable prices.

Walking in, the place smelt of sage and sweet grass. The women inside were lovely and welcoming.

When I got to the airport, I found some identical items (eg the journals and playing cards) for exactly double the price. The journals were $26 at the airport, but were $13 at Cedar Root. The playing cards were $14 at the airport, but only $7 at Cedar Root.

My only regret is I didn’t put aside enough time in there, because I would have bought more.

I recommend buying your souvenirs and gifts from here - I will be back next time I’m in CA.

Thank you
Jess

Love everything in the gallery and shop here anytime we are here for birthdays or Christmas, however I came in to shop for something for my son’s birthday when the older lady I’ve seen multiple times when I shopped alone or with my mom came and stood right beside me watching me intently as I browsed under the guise she “hasn’t seen a shirt before” but not even looking at it, just watching me and not asking me if I need help like she normally has in the past, when another lady asked if I needed help. While the other older lady just staring and at that point I just walked out because if I am going to be made to feel judged, I would rather just not even make a purchase at all. So that is why the low rating other than that, beautiful everything in the store.

ABsolutely gr8 gallery/shop. Small but Jammed! w/all things Indigenous; masks, bowls, wall carvings, clothing, mugs, jewelery et al. We went.2 ALL the galleries and 'souvenir' stores looking 4 a carving 2 take home. Not only were the $$ reasonable, but th Quality was superior 2 other shops. A little out of the way, but worth it. BONUS, it is located in an Aboriginal community centre, w/beautiful story/totem poles and carvings displayed thruout. Woman in shop was thoroughly charming.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I discovered Cedar Root Gallery by "chance" (is anything really by "chance"?) while walking around Vancouver last year. The shop, the items and the people working there, they all left such a strong and beautiful impression on me that the place is now a must visit whenever I'm in Vancouver.

Earlier in the year I had a layover during the weekend, when the store is closed. So, I made sure that the stopover on the way back would have at least one day during the week to ensure that I could visit again.

Thank you for all that you do. I look forward to my next visit đŸȘ¶

An absolute gem of a store. Everything in here is beautiful. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff for a Secret Santa in The Netherlands and they had everything for all age ranges (for the 5 year old to the teacher to the IT worker!) everyone adored what I got for them from here. Their masks are also beautiful so if you want some amazing west coast art to rep I would highly recommend going here. Support First Nations!

Love this store! It’s Indigenous owned and operated. Staff are welcoming. They always have fresh sage, sweetgrass, cedar, Palo Santo sticks and much more. For instance, Westcoast Masks, dream catchers, medicine bags, and abalone shells.
