This place is truly wonderful - great selection of new and used books, excellent organization and accurate inventory records (a very hard thing to do in a bookstore). As well as books, there are a variety of eclectic collections of art, jewelry, candles, etc. all quite beautiful and original. Plus, these are cat lovers! There are several bookstore cats (some) of which you can adopt. What's not to love about this place!!

The Book Man is a very fascinating store that is packed with so many books. And not just books, but also accessories and stuffed toys you would want to buy. I also love their cat they have roaming around the store. I was very happy to be affiliated with him.

One of the highlights of The Bookman is their partnership with local rescue agencies, bringing adoptable cats into the store for visitors to enjoy.

Their friendly bookstore cats—like Agatha and Steinbeck—roam the aisles, offering comfort and companionship to customers while helping raise awareness for cat adoption.
It’s a heartwarming addition that truly sets The Bookman apart. If you love books and cats, this is the perfect place to visit—whether to browse their extensive collection or to spend time with some adorable furry friends looking for their forever homes.

I visited The Book Man after a long road trip from the prairies, and I really enjoyed my time there. The staff were friendly, there's cats, and the prices of books were super amazing! What's not to love!?

I also appreciated that they donate to charity whenever you buy a bag ☘️ I will definitely come back one day! P.S I wanna be friends with the staff member who recommended Land of the Lustrous 🥺

The cutest book store in town! Some pretty amazing collection of books and a cute cat inside. The owner is super helpful as well. Must visit if you are around.

We had a great time at The Book Man store. We drove over an hour to get there and it was well worth it. It was bigger than we imagined and had an amazing selection of new and used books as well as many other things. It's great to see a store like this still open. Long may they stay that way.

The store has a therapeutic effect, making you feel like you're wandering in a fairy tale among shelves filled with different books, while music plays and soft, friendly voices of the staff and customers can be heard. Everyone here is smiling and happy, ready to help. They even have cats, I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a Cheshire Cat somewhere waiting for Alice…
1. The store offers a very large assortment with an amazing choice.
2. All books are systematically organized on shelves with signs everywhere.
3. The store is clean, as are the shelves and the cats room.
4. When I asked for specific books, a sales associate stood up from behind the counter and kindly offered to lead me to the shelf with those books; she didn’t just point with her hand, she walked me there.
5. The store offers very affordable prices, and there is a book sale in front of the store.
6. Some cats are available for adoption, they take care of them and help find owners for them.

Today was my first time visiting this local treasure, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. Clearly, from prior reviews, you can see this shop is well loved, but I didn't know why until now.

Upon entering, you are greeted by someone, and immediately there are stacks, upon stacks of previously loved books at a reasonable price point sectioned into well organized, and easily understood isles. The music emanating from the speaker system was dreamy, and not too loud or distracting.
It's clear they also highlight BIPOC authors and make an effort to be inclusive in their advertising of particular authors.

Speaking as a non-binary person, seeing how much thought and consideration is put into curating where the books are located (I noticed they put LGBTQIA2S+ books BEFORE the Harry Potter books - yes, this matters!) Really stood out to me. I adore how carefully merchandise is arranged, and even the adorable "kitty corner" window they have for their (adoptable) kitties!
At check out, they have tokens for you to "donate" toward local charities if you choose not to get a bag, which I'm all for!
They will also take old books back (in good condition, I'm sure) for store credit, which is awesome!

This is now my official "safe place" and I can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for making such a welcoming, beautiful community space.
