We stayed for roughly one week in Cabin 2 at the Anchors Inn. The Cabin had everything we needed as well as a few things for a simple Breakfast. We liked the place for its wonderful view and calm atmosphere.
But unfortunately the Cabin and the bed linen smelled mouldy and fresh air didn't change that. As something fell behind the bed, we also found mould on the mattress.
The host definitely should work on that.

It’s so refreshing, after you’ve spent time reading reviews and pouring over photos to try and choose an accommodation from afar, that when you arrive the experience is exactly as described and shown. ||Marilyn was a gracious host but once we were checked in, left us to it (although made it clear if we needed anything that she was available. We didn’t need to get in touch though as everything worked so well.) ||We stayed in the suite which was warm, clean and spacious. We felt comfortable as soon as we stepped through the door. Nice views from the deck, very quiet and yet close to the all the amenities of Ucluelet. It would have been wonderful to stay longer but if (when) we return, Anchors Inn is where I’d choose to stay.

We loved this place and would happily have stayed longer. The Anchors Inn website adequately and accurately describes the property. The small, neat and tidy cabin has a spectacular harbour view from the windows and especially from the totally private deck. Marine life abounds and you can watch a variety of it from the cabin. Deer roam the property.||The kitchen area is well equipped for minimalist cooking and there is a 2 burner, clean, easy to use BBQ. We prepared most of our own meals without a problem. There are good sources for local, fresh and frozen seafood and the Co-op grocery has quality meat products and produce. The few meals we had out were excellent and the Cedar Grill was a standout. The locals are friendly. So are the tourists.||The west coast of Vancouver Island is dynamic. We enjoyed all major trails, at least once. Ocean views are spectacular. The area has world class, well maintained walking trails, both inside and outside of the Pacific Rim Park. ||The weather was dry and warm for our mid October, week long stay. That is unusual for the area. There is a saying: "There is no bad weather, just wrong clothing". We traveled with a lot of clothing we did not use so it remained in the car. There is not room for many extras in the cabin. Our time was mostly spent outside.||Our whole experience was perfect for us.

This is truly one of the nicest cabins we have had the pleasure of staying in. The cabins are quaint, clean, pet friendly, beautiful deck that we stayed out on most of our stay with the most incredible view and a hot tub. We saw all sorts of critters. Deer right in front of the cabin. We were entertained by seals. Had an awesome view of a couple eagles. It can't get better than that. We did a whale watch tour and saw our cabin from the boat. Wow! We are prairie folks and being near an ocean is a treat beyond measure. Our host Marilyn was a gem. Hubby forgot his beloved Rider ball camp (for those from Saskatchewan you can certainly relate). She kindly mailed it back. Hubby was all smiles. Thank you Marilyn!

The bed was worn out and sagging, my wife hardly slept and woke with aches and pains. I slept on the floor.

Despite satisfactory housekeeping there were other evident signs of neglect such as peeling and blackened wood floors, green growth on the inside of the kitchen nook window and rust on appliances.

We left after that first night (had booked 3). I asked the owner if we could discuss a refund as we had not received the services paid for due to the defective bed.

The one owner directed me to speak with the other owner. Despite multiple attempts over several days by phone and email, we received no response.

Vrbo reached out on our behalf and informed me the owner has refused to consider a refund.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend staying in Cabin 1.

We stayed in the suite as we found it on VRBO and didn't know about the cabins. It was perfect for us. Roomy, well supplied, clean, comfortable, quiet. Nice to have the separate bedroom if one of you likes to stay up late and the other doesn't! Marilyn communicated clearly and promptly, was available if we had any questions or issues (though we didn't; everything was fine). Price is very reasonable. A perfect place to stay while exploring the Pacific Rim area!

This cozy little cabin was the perfect size for the two of us for a couple of nights. There are some really thoughtful touches here, including the guides and information laid out for guests, and Marilyn was very easy to get a hold of and gave us our privacy at the same time. Yes, there's an ice factory nearby, but we didn't find the noise terribly intrusive, and we definitely reaped the rewards by seeing all the wildlife that hang around it! We saw more species just sitting on the balcony than we did on the trails nearby. It's close to shops and restaurants, minutes' drive from so many amazing trails, and incredibly reasonably priced. We will definitely be back, and we definitely recommend it to others!||Accessibility stuff: you can't maneuver a wheelchair around that tiny cabin (the suite may be different), but it's otherwise very easy to move around and navigate for other disabled folks. It's a steep road down to the cabin, so if you have bad knees like me, just plan on driving in and out of the property. The owners have clearly made an effort to provide good footing around the property itself, which is great given how wet it can get in Ucluelet. We had a blissful time here, and so will you!

We had an excellent stay at the Anchors Inn in Ucluelet. Marilyn was friendly and accommodating about check-in and made sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in Cabin 1 which was cozy and comfortable. It was definitely a two-person living situation, and it made for a romantic getaway for my partner and I. The soaker tub was a wonderful addition to our vacation and we spent plenty of time in it enjoying the view of Ucluelet harbour. The cabin is very private despite its proximity to the main house on the property and it is very well appointed. It is also a short walk (7 minutes) into town, though there are some fairly steep hills to get there. I would definitely reccommend staying here if you are looking for a romantic couples getaway to Ucluelet and the West Coast of Vancouver Island!
