Just had the most frustrating experience with The Bison printing shop. I started by asking if they print double-sided in a booklet format, and the woman on the phone confirmed that they do. I then asked if we could do a test print to check the colors since I’ve had issues with saturation at another local shop. It seemed like a perfectly reasonable request to me—better to test one page than print out 25 and get it wrong.

That’s when things went downhill. She asked if I could email the file or bring it in on a USB. I explained that the file was too large to send directly via email but said I could share a Google Drive link instead. As soon as I mentioned Google Drive, her whole attitude shifted, and it turned into an instant, “Nope, I don’t want to do business with you” vibe. She basically made it clear they had no interest in accommodating me.

I even asked her at the end of the call if something I said had upset her because I couldn’t understand why she was suddenly so hostile. Her answer? “You’re paying for our services, and that’s what we would have to charge you for,” followed by a lecture on how they’re too busy and don’t have time for me this week or next. She actually suggested I drive an hour or two to a Staples!

Why does trying to support a local business always feel like this?

Bison Printing is the best! We’ve done tons of projects with them from booklets to posters to show tickets and they always go above and beyond. Everything always turns out great and the turnaround time is awesome!
