My girlfriend and I stayed here several times in the early 2000's; if we were overnighting in Williams Lake, this place became our go-to. The rooms were spotless, Breakfast was good and plentiful, the hosts welcoming and friendly. Fellow travellers always had fascinating stories. Scout Island Bird Sanctuary is a five-minute walk, the backyard was 50 feet of lawn ending in a cattail/bulrush marsh edging the lake. If you can, get a room on the lake side of the house, then you can (in summer) fall asleep to the sounds of the Red-winged and Yellow-headed Blackbirds bickering in the backyard and the loons yodelling far out on the lake.

This is truly a gem in Williams Lake! They have the price is unbeatable. The decor is a bit dated, but quite charming. The rooms are cozy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is simple, but there's a nice sitting area to have your tea and toast 🙂 Being so close to Scout Island is such a bonus, just a 5 minutes away from all the walking trails and picnic areas. Quiet and comfortable! I'm always going to stay here when I have to visit the puddle!!! I would recommend this to everyone!

This B&B is so comfortable and cozy. Love that it is tucked in beside the lake and just a short walk to Scout Island which is a great spot for nature walks and wildlife viewing. I had enough space to work in the room, a view of the lake, and enjoyed laughs and stories with Helmut who runs the B&B. Highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Williams Lake.

Some of my family stayed here 18 years ago (was Rowat's B&B back then) and did so recently again. Can't beat the beautiful lake view. ||||Nothing nice has been done to the place since their previous visit. In fact, much has changed for the worse. There is no more patio (though advertised), no more fabulous common/living room (closed off from B&B side) and the breakfast room can barely seat more than two people for the help-yourself meal. It's basically your bedroom/suite and the breakfast room in the entryway. Was such a fabulous place. Not much for outside chairs, etc. either. My family was disappointed.||||A bit of attention to a few details could make this place rock once again. Not sure why it is not, but feels more like a regular family house than a lakeside B&B where you get to know the hosts while they cook for you :)||||While it's clean and has nice hosts, just wanted folks to not expect what it once was. My folks liked having a two room suite - that was nice and roomy and with a fridge, which is more than you'd probably get in most hotels here anyway.

The owner of this B&B, Halmet provides excellent customer service by answering every single of my questions patiently. ||As a student, I'm on tight budget. He kindly offered me two king size bed rooms, with their own washrooms for $85 each. Good price!||The breakfast is perfect for me; oat meal, fruit, and bread. No oily sausages and eggs.||The B&B is right next to the Williams Lake, and the Scout Island nature sanctuary.||This place might seem isolated on google maps, but it is just right next to the city center. It can be seen from the only Tim Hortons in town which is on highway 97, if you look towards the east of Williams Lake (the lake itself).||I highly recommend this B&B.

We recently sought a hotel room in Williams Lake, BC, during "fire season", when all hotel rooms were taken by firefighters and evacuees. A lovely woman at the front desk of the Ramada, after making several futile phone calls, suggested the Blackbird B&B, whom she called, and they were able to offer us 2 rooms, perfect for our needs. Friendly, neat, nice basic breakfast, good price, a lovely and fortunate find!

As a business traveler, the room was lovely but the breakfast has no healthy options. Four days and not once was my room freshened. No breakfast, no room amenities- what did I pay for? Hire extra help!
