I’ve been coming to the Brooks for years. It used to be one of the hotspots. Always packed on a Friday/Sat night. Now it’s dead. The lunch hour is the busiest time. Although most of them are friendly the service is pretty bad. It take forever for them to take your orders. Bring you things and check to see if you need a new drink. The bar staff are most often talking to the people sitting at the bar and not paying attention to other guests. I have had to on a few occasions go up and get another drink at the bar because they are too preoccupied chatting. This hotel has great food. But it could definitely be doing so much better business wise if they hired staff that worked and had more than one waitress on at a time. I hope someone will turn this bar back into being great again.

It’s super cool! We stumbled on this establishment by a complete fluke and wanted to try something different and local. The entrances to the hotel itself are interesting enough and then you walk into really old school hotel/pub restaurant that is completely run down, but you want to sit down anyway.

It seemed like it was busy and only one server was working, we didn’t mind because it was a chill environment with locals shooting the sh!t. The server finally came to us and she was super friendly, explaining everything to us and going above any beyond to help us.

We ordered two sandwiches and the Newfie fries, it was absolutely delicious. The bread was soft and nothing was dry or over done.

We would definitely stop by again for a casual sandwich and fries.

My family and I took a road trip from Winnipeg MB to Nordegg AB at the end of July 2023. On our way back, we knew we were going to stop for lunch in Brooks and so I was commissioned to look for a good spot.

After sifting through various chains and not-so-unique local restaurants, I came across reviews for the bar at the Brooks Hotel. It sounded pretty perfect - my mom and I are sandwich junkies and my dad and aunt can find something just about anywhere.

The food and service were both absolutely stellar! Never did I expect to have a phenomenal tuna (ALBACORE EVEN) salad sandwich on thick cut fresh white bread I’m a dive bar but here we are almost three weeks later and I still can’t stop thinking about it!

The bar itself is charming during the day, and I would love to be close enough to go back to take in some live entertainment at night.

HIGHLY recommend as a lunch stop. It was one of the highlights of the whole trip for me 🥰

Our service from Rebecca both nights we were there was the best service I've had in a long time. She deserves a raise.
Even tho this says its a hotel it's not. Just a local pub with a liquor store attached. Open late.

Went for the weekend breakfast special it wad GREAT! Bacon, eggs, hasbrowns and toast $6.99, steak, eggs, hasbrowns and toast $10.00!
The place was busy and our waitress was a blast!!

Is this place a hotel? In not sure. But the restaurant is killer best known for their sandwichs. Some of the best yam fries I've ever had. Look FWD to making my way through their menu
