I recently had a deeply frustrating experience at No Frills that I feel compelled to share. Upon selecting an olive priced at $3.29, I was shocked to discover at the cashier that it was ringing up at $8.99. When I questioned the cashier about the discrepancy, I was simply told that the label was incorrect. What's more concerning is that there were numerous bottles with the same incorrect pricing on the shelf, indicating a systematic issue rather than an isolated mistake.

To add insult to injury, when I pressed further about the pricing discrepancy, the explanation provided was baffling. The staff claimed they didn't have space and simply put those items under the wrong label, which doesn't make any sense and is completely unacceptable.

Moreover, the staff's attitude was not good. They failed to apologize or offer any meaningful resolution, despite wasting my time with their errors and misleading pricing. The only action they took was to provide me with the olive at the original price of $3.29, which hardly compensated for the inconvenience and frustration caused. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that they did not uphold the policy of either providing the item for free or honoring the "two for one" pricing as other grocery stores.

Overall, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer service at No Frills. I urge other shoppers to be cautious and double-check prices before making any purchases at this establishment.

I was looking forward to mixing up a nice Caesar salad when I got home tonight. Opened up the bag and found this. Brown expired lettuce everywhere. Not edible. $4 went into the garbage can. I bought it on the 20th, the expiry date on the package says the 25th, and today is the 23rd. Another sickening example of corporate greed, so anxious to make a buck that they extend the expiry dates on perishable products. I suggest you don't buy salads at Yonge and Steeles No Frills. Society has really gone downhill. One star, only because zero stars isn't possible.

Quality of produce is getting worse while prices increasing. We often purchase 2lb bag of PC Organics carrots usually $3.99. Lately noticing carrots are broken, cracked and poor colour pigment. Compare to Ambrosia 2lb bag organic carrots at $2.99 which are gorgeous - rich in colour, no broken or cracked ones at all. Also, Cosmic Crisp apples which, over last two years have been amazing and a bargain at $1.99/lb (same price at Metro btw and always gorgeous), suddenly covered in white wax after rinsing which never appeared before. Apple was definitely Cosmic Crisp but noticeably different looking, lighter in weight (less juicy) and unusual colouring than previous purchases. Manager Alex honoured the produce guarantee by refunding both carrots and apples and offered credit of same value to purchase other items since he could not offer acceptable quality replacement. Regardless, we are finding produce quality increasingly lacking at this No Frills and customer service staff, including some managers specifically Juliana totally unaware or unwilling to honour produce guarantee ie full refund within 7 days with receipt plus replacement of same item to customer at no cost. Problem is, the replacement item is often the same poor, even rotten quality item that you're returning in the first place. However there is a discretionary clause that addresses this but you have to argue over it.
With due diligence there are amazing deals to be had ie we purched super sweet California colossal cherries $1.99/lb this year and last. But, these are definitely the exception and probably not worth making the trip vs savings.

Customers should educate themselves to the Produce Guarantee offered at most groceries, including No Frills ie...

PRODUCE PURCHASED THAT IS NOT SATISFACTORY FOR ANY REASON CAN BE RETURNED WITHIN 7 DAYS WITH RECEIPT FOR FULL REFUND AND STORE WILL REPLACE WITH SAME OR SIMILAR ITEM FREE OF CHARGE.

This is a great policy for those of us frustrated to open a bag of potatoes, carrots, whatever to find rotten, poor tasting, over ripe etc ie purchase a bag of sweet plums only to get home and taste that they're not sweet at all.
RETURN THEM!

Many issues with this store. Mostly with staff. Many are very rude , poor customer service skills. Also a few times experienced one price displayed for produce, yet tripled price at cash. Be aware- check your receipts. Needs change in management urgently. Enough from me, will never return to this location and will share my experience with others.

My recent experience at this branch was quite frustrating. I was surprised to find that they enforce strict closing times by asking customers to leave promptly at 9, even if they're still shopping. In contrast to other stores where customers are allowed to finish their purchases after closing, the staff here were rather rude, only responding with 'TOMORROW' to those wanting to grab one last item a few minutes past 9. It left me questioning their customer service standards and staff training. Is this level of respectfulness reflective of a 'no frills' approach?
