Very disappointed at the service at castaspella. We ordered my daughter’s grad dress from here, regrettably paid in full. I was told it would be in end of March beginning of April. I called at the beginning of April and it had not yet arrived. They said they were missing about 10 and that it would be here mid April. I called again mid month and it still hadn’t arrived. I asked them to track it so once she did she called to tell me it was being expedited from Montreal. Called the following week after the long weekend and the dress had not arrived yet. Asked her to track it again and was not told it was coming from Ontario. My daughter is the first grad class May 2 and we are just over a week away. Ended up arriving one week before grad, had I not been prepared with the seamstress for alterations this would have left us in a HUGE predicament! Thankfully it worked out but I feel they should have communicated better throughout the process.

I was sure this 2nd appt of 3 wedding dress try-ons would be great because I’ve heard of many young ladies getting grad dresses from this business. We are 7hrs north so these shopping trips are expensive, timely and exhausting so customer service is a big thing when shopping anywhere but especially a big thing when wedding dress shopping. Our appt was at 1pm for an hour. There were 2 ladies at the entrance/checkout when we arrived. Both women didn’t seem positive or inviting more low energy, awkward vibes. One was reaching for a smoke, one looked like they just woke up. We had to walk up a flight of steps that were fairly steep, no mention of wheelchair accessibility, if one of us weren’t able to climb stairs or even if we had elderly people in our group. We followed the lady (sister of owner I think she said) upstairs to a room not bigger than a regular sized bedroom with a 3-4 racks around the room, 3 hard plastic chairs, and a corner dressing room, and a large mirror, almost covering a full wall, top to floor, which I loved. I did not like the dressing room location, as there was no real reveal. The dress room curtain opens and there’s the bride to be. No anticipation, no walk, just open curtain and there’s the dress and the bride to be. The options for dresses was less than both other dress shops (3 visited in GP), including the consignment shop, so that was disappointing, as the business has been operating 20yrs? (If I recall correctly from what the lady said). The room we were in had a small selection, maybe 10 give or take a few, on each rack, and then my daughter had to go to another room to view additional dresses. She said there was less of selection and maybe brought one back to try on? Overall, the lady wasn’t very inviting, helpful or talkative. Didn’t offer any information about purchasing or what’s included, nothing. We weren’t even offered a veil to try on, until we asked for one and then she put it away. Barely even talked to us, unless we asked her questions, seemed like she wasn’t interested in working or having to do this on a Saturday for her 20th year lol. I apologize but she didn’t look very professional either, just kinda woke up, threw the first thing she saw in her closet on and combed her hair (maybe). I’m not a dressy gal but I think in a position like this, the employee should at minimum have done up hair and a clean look. The only real positive is that this location had the only professional looking pedestal for the bride to stand up on, and a beautiful mirror. I wouldn’t recommend this shop for wedding dress shopping BUT definitely saw some beautiful and glamorous grad dresses.

After a really horrible experience at another “boutique” in town, my visit to Castaspella was a breath of fresh air. Great service and a great selection of grad dresses.

I got my gorgeous dress from Castaspella and had a great experience. They had excellent suggestions and helped me find the perfect style. It was a blast! I also purchased a bridesmaids dress and that was perfect too. They've been great, highly recommend!

Wasn't impressed with this store. The sidewalk wasn't shovelled, I had made an appointment so they were aware we would be showing up. The lady helping didn't seem like she cared to be there. Did not ask many questions such as, what do you love about this, what don't you like etc. She just helped me into the dresses. We were booked for an hour and I left after 20 minutes. There is very minimal selection for bridal dresses. Only sizes they had were either really small 0-2 or very big. I would not recommend this store. If anything go to Calista's I spent 2 hours and the lady was phenomenal helping me out!

Came in to try wedding dresses on, the lady that helped me was amazing and helped me out as much as she could. When I said I might want to try on bridesmaid dresses due to that’s kind of my style I’m aiming for and all the wedding gowns were a bit to fancy for what my wedding is going to be. Once I was shown where the bridesmaid dresses were it was like I wasn’t important anymore, passed off to another employee that didn’t come back and help me into the dresses once. Was very unimpressed with the service I was given.

Had a last minute Bridal appointment with Julia and had an absolute blast! She made me feel so good in all of the dresses that we decided to try on and I had so much fun doing it. I had another appointment 2 weeks later at a different boutique but I couldn't get that dress that I had found at Castaspella's out of my head.

I had brought my mom and 2 sisters this time, so we stopped in and Julia was so accommodating and let me come in and show my family the dress that I knew I was going to say yes too! It was a perfect experience my sisters even ended up trying on bridesmaid dresses and we were all aloud to go and see what they would look like next to the wedding dress.

Needless to say it was a 10/10 recommend experience and we all went home with dresses that day! Thank you Julia and staff I will definitely be sending my friends and family your way! 🙂
