Being understaffed is under no circumstances the fault of patients looking for care. Rudely telling a pregnant person that you cannot help them with zero solutions aside from coming in each day at 7 am is unacceptable. If you are understaffed, hire more people. If you are too busy to handle walk ins, make it by appointment only. Most folks work or have kids, we do not have the luxury of coming in each day and praying our privatized healthcare will consider helping us. And no matter what, mistreating my pregnant wife with your attitude is not cool.

I had a horrible experience. Checked the website, drive 40 minutes with a toddler to do my 1 hour glucose test, walked in with snacks packed in the stroller to find a waiting room with people in it and a sign on the reception window with no mention on the website saying that they were out for lunch for the next 2 hours! I did not roll my eyes or say a negative word, I just said oh darn, left, loaded my daughter in the car and called my husband to vent a little while I looked for the nearest clinic to go to. A random lady wearing scrubs who was just standing on the sidewalk eavesdropped on my private conversation (there was nobody else around) heard me say something like "who gets an almost 2 hour lunch break?!" and she approached my passenger car window to tell me very rudely that they are understaffed today. I responded that that is not what the sign said and to enjoy the rest of her 2 hour lunch break somewhere else. She then walked into the clinic. I'm not sure why employees are just standing outside the clinic on the sidewalk with a busy waiting room, accosting tired frustrated pregnant ladies having a conversation in the privacy of their own vehicle.. I am allowed to be frustrated and I am allowed to call my husband about it in my own vehicle, I did not say a single word about my frustration inside the clinic, I would never raise a kerfuffle.
I went to the one in Kemptville instead and had a fantastic experience, I got there in 20 minutes and was done my 1 hour test before that lunch break would have been over. I don't know about you but I'm a farmer and have had many a 14 hour day without a lunch break, if your job is understaffed and busy, wouldn't you be inside hustling to get those poor waiting folks through the door?! Not here, here they just stand idle on the sidewalk outside and bully people who were turned away during regular business hours in their car as they leave. Not everyone has the gas money to drive all the way there and back multiple times when we live out of town, I was up at 4am working harder than this mean lady ever has. I'm mainly mad at the employee here but also, I feel like the system they have isn't working, it would be helpful to be able to make an appointment for some things or get more up to date information from the website, in the very least.

Continues to be excellent. The techs have to work so hard; it's a very very busy location, but they're efficient and friendly regardless. Super professional. I just feel bad for them. They could probably use more help. I feel like a tech shouldn't have to multitask handling the front desk and doing the tests.

Even though the Winchester Dynacare center was working short yesterday and was very busy, Allison managed to greet, process and see clients all with a smile on her face. She put me at ease right away and did an amazing job. I was in and out of center within an hr. 😉👍

I waited in the cold for 45 minutes before before anyone came out to collect paperwork. They came out and called some names 10 minutes later but not mine. When I asked about it after another 10 minutes I was told they didn't have my paperwork.
I had checked in online an hour and a half before this.
The woman that took my paperwork then came out and began to SCOLD me in front of a crowd of patrons and told me off for doing a Net Check In using my given name and last initial and stated I should use my legal first name. I fail to see how that caused any confusion at all since there was no correlation between Net and physical check in. She did so in a loud voice and then repeated her self so everyone could hear including late comers. I asked if they would see me now and she told me she would start me at the back of the line and it would take 2 hours more before they would see me. I was dealing with a young woman with the huge fake eyelashes and she simply scurried off when I took my paper work back and cancelled my check in.
I was not at all pleased!!!
Follow up.
I contacted the Coporate heads and the Lab itself concerning this incident. The response was prompt, satisfactory and have resulted in some positive changes in my next visit. I was assured that the person in question was provided with some direct training to improve their people skills.
