I cannot express how grateful I am to Mary. I started the process of purchasing a Basset Hound puppy from her in 2020. Wallace came home in July 2021 and has been genuinely the most easy going puppy I've raised. You can really see the commitment to bettering the breed, socializing and all around love and care in her dogs. From birth until the day he came home I had access to pictures and videos which made waiting for him much easier. Mary has a huge knowledge base and is usually just a phone call away. April 2021 Update: 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our beautiful Georgia is such a wonderful dog and family companion. She is such an angel, and her health has been incredible. In the beginning of quarantine, she ate several masks (out of the laundry machine - now I know better!), but she has an iron constitution, and passed them without incident. She turned 5 in March 2021, and I still get stopped all the time by people who want to meet her or tell me how beautiful she is. She has a great physique and a love of life; she’s athletic and such fun. She even loves to play fetch, and is a wonderful swimmer! I’ve had Bassets my whole life, so I can tell you that the fetching and swimming are pretty unusual. I taught her to swim as a tiny puppy for water safety reasons, and urge Basset owners to do the same. She is able to keep her heavy chest afloat with her stubby legs because she learned when she was tiny. She is an amazing snuggler, and always gets up to greet me at the door. She is also a devoted guard dog, and alerts me to anytime there is a stranger at the door. She is great with my kids, and is part of our family in every way. I am so thankful to Mary, who runs such a loving and healthy business bringing beautiful, healthy, fit Basset Hounds into the world. People mistakenly assume Basset don’t need a lot of exercise, but they need their hikes and their Neighbourhood sniff-and-strolls to stay both physically and emotionally healthy. I kept her off stairs as much as possible until she was 1 years old. She is an absolute treasure. I can always spot a Golden Assets Basset because of their beauty and health.
