I bought some snacks on Friday, January 24th around 3:45 and the young, female cashier was not friendly at all. She didn’t greet me or say anything after I said “thank you”. She just blankly looked at me for a second and then didn’t look at me at all afterwards, which made me uncomfortable. I did not appreciate the bad customer service.

I'm writing this review to share my disappointment in their customer service recently.
I've been going to this Filipino store since it opened, and even shared the great news to my fellow Filipinos so they can also support this business. However, a few days ago, I purchased a 6-item pack of Lovely Pork Asado siopao and found a foreign object--which was a piece of plastic--in the filling. I went to the store and brought the product that I bought plus the foreign object. I spoke to what I believe is the owner and they didn't seem proactive about the situation. I had to literally probe and ask "So what is the process? What's next do I need to come back here after you report it to the supplier?" and he just kind of nodded and he didn't even offer information as to what he will offer to me. No mention of refund, exchange for other products for the product I received with quality issues until the kind lady, who is an employee of the store, mentioned to replace the product with the same one which he then acknowledged.

So after inspecting the said product and the foreign material, I asked if I can grab the same product as replacement already, and for a few seconds, he contemplated because the 6-item pack only had 2 siopaos left. I didn't find out about the foreign object until the 4th siopao that I had and then he said "Ok sige nalang" which translates to a reluctant "Ok fine". Ok I get it, you probably were disappointed (And I am also disappointed), but whether you lose money/profit or not over what happened, this is not the customer's fault. When you have a business, things like this happen and it's one of the risks that comes with running a business. The store should deal with the supplier, Lovely Siopao, so you won't lose money then. I'm sure everyone of us has shopped in many different stores. When you get a pack/box of products with quality issues at a store that cares about the consumer's rights, you get an entire pack as replacement right? The same exact product you bought from the store. But anyways, just to clarify, they did end up giving me the same product as replacement, but not without the unpleasant experience I mentioned above.

This review is not to tarnish the reputation of the store. I'm merely writing my personal experience with their customer service in the hopes that this will improve their service in the future but I don't think I'm going back to the store. I am disappointed and I am now uncomfortable. The said product was only $17, not a lot, I know, but it's the principle. I should get what I paid for. I may not have spent a thousand in the store since day 1, but I will choose where to spend my money on.

My mom and I visited this store coz we were excited to see a Filipino store close by, and to give support to our kababayans, but left very disappointed. There was a man (working there) who kept on following us around - all eyes locked and following every turn - as if we were going to take anything and run. It was very uncomfortable definitely CREEPY. Meanwhile, there was a rowdy bunch of teenagers at the back of the store, but he didn't pay them any attention. I've been here in Canada for so many years and I've never had this experience, especially coming from my fellow Filipino. Anong akala nyo sa amin, magnanakaw? CREEP! SHAME ON YOU! I will never return to this shop and will tell others to do so. Besides, everything is overpriced here. Nagaraya for $3+ haha what a joke. I'll give this store ZERO rating if that's an option.

They took away the candy 🙁 When Fina Foods was here, it was better. Now all I do is walk through the store and get the ordinary grocery items like oranges. What a disgrace.
