Deeply grateful for the kind and considerate customer service here. I had passport photos taken, and it was very fast and easy. Upon leaving the store I went to run some errands and somehow dropped the photos somewhere. Instead of tracing my steps to look for them (which had likely been picked up already) I returned and asked to re-do them. Fully expecting to pay the $22 again, he refused payment and suggested that I pay it forward. I forgot to ask your name, my apologies, but I certainly will pay it forward. Thank you for your kindness.

A couple of weeks ago, I needed a photo for my passport, both a digital file and a printed version. I thought it would be better to support a small business, so I checked the reviews and chose here. I now wish I hadn’t made that choice. When my photo was taken and printed, my black hair appeared literally red, and I was charged $22. I asked for a correction because obviously, I couldn’t use a flawed photo for my passport. New photos were printed, but the same problem occurred. Instead of correcting it or refunding my money, he charged me another $22. I was so disappointed that I just paid the money, threw the photos out, and got a new photo from Staples. I might have been unlucky with this service, but he definitely treated me very unprofessionally.

I dropped into Kamloops Camera House today to get an old 8x10 family photo scanned, restored, and to have copies made for my family. I'm from out-of-town, and Kamloops Camera House was recommended to me by another local business.

I sat with the owner, Barry Prost, while he scanned and restored the photo, and chatted pleasantly with him while he worked. I'm extremely happy with the end result and the value for my money. Barry spoke about how he enjoys coming to work every day, and it showed over the course of our interaction.

Since I wasn't in a hurry, I also waited and watched him interact with another customer who had brought a garage-sale digital camera in for a quick repair job. Barry explained the issue in detail, adjusted what he could for the gentlemen, then sent him away as a very happy customer.

Overall, I was very impressed with how Barry handled my order, and how he dealt with the other customer. I would not hesitate to give him my business again.

These guys really to care about their customers. Earlier tonight I called the Kamloops Camera House to see if they had parts for my Manfrotto tripod, and I told them I had to do a video shoot for a client later in the evening but I had lost or misplaced the part that holds the video camera on the tripod. Even though it was a few minutes until closing, Barry told me to grab my tripod, hop in the car and come down to the store because he would stay behind and do his best to help me. When I got there he told me I had an older tripod and that the parts were not readily available for that particular model. But what he did - and this blew me away - was he said he had a tripod similar to that somewhere in the store and he wondered if I wanted to wait while he looked for it. When he came back he produced an exact replica of the tripod piece I was missing, and rather than sell the whole tripod to me, he simply sold me the piece I was looking for. Not only that, but he tightened the screws on my tripod and even came up with a few other pieces I was missing. Barry saved the day for me and it wasn't until we were almost done that I discovered he was the owner of the store. To me, he really does care about customers! And I will come back to him from now on forever based on my experience with him. While other people talk a big game about customer service, Barry and his people live it. Even though I was looking for tripod parts for my video recorder, I will come back for all my camera needs too. He won me over with his act of generosity relative to his time (he stayed well past closing time) and his willingness to make me look good for a client in my own business. This guy is my hero. He knew I was in a jam and he came through in spades. I absolutely recommend Barry and the Kamloops Camera House!

If you need any help with camera equipment this is the place to go. Berry fixed my projector when other places couldn't help. He is so helpful and at the moment he is organizing getting my 8mm tapes transferred to a memory stick. Only place in town that can do this. Thanks Berry. Jane

The dude is honest and straight up, he's helpful. He won't try and sell you on more than you need and may even cut you a deal if you're straight with him and are buying a few things.

Strongly recommend you stop in take a look.

He also develops black and white film cheaper than anywhere else I could find.
