I’ve been a loyal customer of Kelowna Mazda since 2018, with two Mazda vehicles in our household. Until recently, I consistently received attentive, professional service that made me feel valued. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

In early May, I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and tire patch. Despite having a 1:45 p.m. appointment, I waited 10 minutes to be helped, and the service took nearly four hours—with no updates—until I asked how much longer it would be. A recall-related issue I’d previously flagged was still missed and only corrected at the front desk, while small touches that once made the experience feel thoughtful—like a complimentary car wash—have quietly disappeared.

Meanwhile, oil change pricing has increased significantly, which would be understandable if service quality had remained high. But it hasn’t. The decline has been sharp—and deeply disappointing.

I sent an email outlining my concerns on May 7, followed up with calls, and was told on May 12 that my message had been passed along to leadership. It’s now the end of July, and I’ve received no response.

The silence says a lot. After years of loyalty, I no longer feel like a valued customer. I hope Kelowna Mazda takes this feedback seriously—because service should matter just as much as sales.

We recently bought a car at this dealership and we were very impressed. Colin Frantze communicated with me right away online when I messaged him on marketplace about the vehicle. He sent me the car facts right away. When we went to test drive and purchase the car the whole team of staff was amazing and very professional. Even the fellow that detailed the car. Hello Mazda Fans……… I wanted to reach out today and share an experience I had with KM on Monday July 28, 2025.
I had an eye doctor appointment at 1:20 pm at Costco. At 12:45 I went down to the parkade and got into my 2020 Mazda 3 speed 3 AWD. Which I just love btw, I push the start engine button and lights start flashing information is coming up on the screen but no engine start. Now I’m a little panicked because I’m not the type to miss or be late for an appointment. I try again and nothing, still lights are flashing and buzzers and bells are going off and on and I realize “ Houston, we have a problem!”..
I called BCAA and they arrived a couple hours later to diagnose the problem probably to do with a dead battery or a “chip”.. I thinking oh no, please lord not a chip. So we get the engine started and I wish the BCAA technician ( who was awesome and very helpful.) thanks and off I go to Mazda. As soon as I arrive to the service department, I am welcomed by Julia and another young lady. They reassure me that everything will be fine. They offer me a brand new CX 70 electric car to get myself home and back to the dealership the next day. The CX 70 is an absolutely stunning car but it felt a little bit big for me. But by all means just a beautiful piece of technology for a mom with 4 kids or more.
The next morning I get a call from Matt, my service technician. He explains that my car is ready to go and anytime I want to return the CX 70 I’m welcome to come in.
I immediately get ready and head down to the dealership. The whole time I’m wondering what’s going to happen, how much is it going to cost me…. Blah, blah, blah. I mean I’m thinking this could cost a few hundred dollars or if it’s a “chip” it could cost a thousand dollars or more. Now let me explain, did I tell you my car is no longer under warranty and so there were all kinds of things going on in my head. However, I do my best to be positive in all situations. I enter the dealership and Matt ( My service advisor) practically greets me at the door with a hand shake and reassures me that everything is fine. I sit down and he begins to explain. When I had my battery replaced in February there was something the technician did not reset and that they were sorry for the inconvenience and that I was free to take my car a go. No charge for the service, no charge for the loan of the beautiful CX 70. I was in awe!! I never would have thought in this day and age and especially in a car dealership in Kelowna. They would own up to a mistake on their part. Hmmmm…. Anyway, I have been a Mazda guy since I was young. I had an RX7 back in the eighties. I had a B2300 pick up truck in the 90’s and a beautiful 2004 RX8 that I bought brand new in the early 2000’s.
I love Mazda and especially the Rotory engine. I want people to know that isn’t it great to have a place with old school honesty to rely on for service. I’m so happy that I know in my heart that I can take my car to Kelowna Mazda and trust that they are only going to do what’s needed and never take advantage of me. I've always had an amazing experience with Mazda, from reception to tech and service. But today this front staff(Ginger hair) wasn't nice to speak to. I simply asked how long the wait is, and she instantly rolled her eyes with raise brows saying " I don't know, I don't know, there's just one guy here so I don't know, then goes back to looking at her computer screen. I understand that it could be busy but please be mindful of how you respond. The old front was always helpful and re assuring but somehow this time it wasnt a good experience.

Over 70 years for my partner and 30 years for myself, not ever have we had this kind of experience purchasing a vehicle.
It was an absolute joy from start to finish. There was 0 pressure on any account not for the car not for the warranty it was seamless and totally unexpected as we have never had this kind of genuine service before…. They treated us like people not $$$. Highly recommended for sure. Thank you for making our time with you so comfortable & uplifting we left with smiles on our faces.
