Such an inviting place! I started crocheting in december 2023 and only visited a big name store and have been meaning to visit Kelowna Yarn and Needlecrafts — finally able to in around March of this year and I am hooked (pun intended). The store is a good size and has a lot of local and imported yarn— I feel like I could just stare at the shelves for a while. Side note: it does get overwhelming coming in when you don’t know what you need, but the ladies at Kelyarn are very knowledgeable about the craft.

There have been multiple times I came in and was helped by very wonderful people from yarn weight questions to winding my terribly tangled yarn (I’m so sorry). I once came in I would say 20-30 mins before closing time (wasn’t intended and yes, I felt bad) and was not expecting the ready help; I was out of the store within 10 minutes!

They also mention to feel free to just come in if I had a random question, guide on projects I am doing or anything of the sort. I am tempted to spend an afternoon with these ladies when I get the time.

I started learning to knit only a few months ago. I came to this store confused and not sure where to start or what I needed for a pattern. I was guided to the right section of the store, and got a few pointers on how to read the pattern and select yarn. Every time I come to the store I learn something new. I have taken one of their classes (clamping blanket pictured) and found it to be really fun and informative. I always look forward to visiting and learning more! Thank you for creating such a welcoming and helpful environment.

Fabulously friendly shop with a wide range of yarns to suit all budgets and desires. A whole community with classes, people helping each other out with projects, patterns and making the correct choices. I loved the whole approach. Highly recommend a visit. My purchase came with a sweet stitch marker as an added bonus

Such a welcoming shop! I visited this shop yesterday having a good amount of knitting knowledge but still had some questions and they went above and beyond to answer them. Taking me to different parts of the store, checking stock (which they have a lot of!) and advising me on how to do things. Ive never had such a good customer experience and the yarn is amazingly priced for the high quality they offer. I’ll only ever shop here from now on!

I always have a great time when I go to Kelowna Yarn & Needlecrafts. The staff are lovely and happy to help with setting you up for your next project. The selection they have is huge and if they don’t have the exact yarn you’re looking for (or enough stock of a particular one) it’s possible to have it ordered in.
