The shop had a great vibe, but the woman who was at cashier rudeness was so off-putting that I left without buying anything. I would have made some purchases if someone else had been working. Unfortunately, it wasn't a positive first impression. If she is not the owner, she should be fired and hire another pleasant worker. Not good!

My friend with a legitimate service dog was denied entrance to this store. Don't go if you have a disability they will discriminate against you. Highly disappointed for a fair trade store they certainly don't treat customers fairly.

The shop looked cool but the woman was so incredibly rude that I walked right out with no interest in supporting the business. I probably would've bought some things had there been a different woman working. Not a good first impression of Tobermory locals for sure...

Used to absolutely love visiting this shop!

Just went and WOW.
The second I walked in the man was unhappy and noticed I had my phone out, I have been walking around playing Pokémon go with my partner and still have it running. He immediately told me I was not allowed to have my phone out and not allowed to take photos since all the art was imported and “special”. They had many signs posted throughout saying no pictures. I told him that wasn’t the case and if he had seen my phone he’d known it wasn’t what I was doing. He was upset that I made that comment and went on about how special it all is….

I am assuming they don’t want you google searching the items to realize they are scamming you and probably completely lying about the nature of their products.
He was completely unwelcoming and rude. You would think someone doing something so nice would have a better energy about them, but all I got was scam and untrustworthy feelings from this man. I laughed and turned right out of the shop, my business is obviously not welcome here 😂😂. Hire someone more welcoming, that was such an upsetting experience and he could have handled it many different ways.

I recently went to this store on a visit to Tobermory from the United States. I love this store. I could spend hours in here. Gorgeous handmade products from Africa including beautiful one of a kind clothing . The owner was so friendly. I highly recommend this overlooked store. My husband bought a awesome carving.

Great place very unique African gifts .Comes with a story how the owner fell in love with the county and then a local man .Handmade items veryyy reasonable.Very friendly great customer service .Not your run of the mill gift shop

Super friendly and knowledgeable owner, and one of my favourite shops anywhere! She has the coolest selection of decor and jewelry. The little carved stone animals are my very favourite. 10/10, always a pleasure to visit!

Absolutely wonderful shop! My wife and I were staying in Tobermory and went there three times during our stay! Prices are decent, it's fair trade so there's no blood diamond thing going on. Yvette who was working that day was awesome and a joy to interact with! We'll definitely be stopping by there next time we're up there!!
