We have purchased a mattress, wing back chair for my mum, rocker recliner and most recently a sofa from leons in summerside. We have been helped all those times by Wayne who is super helpful and gets us something we love, he is great. We are very happy with their service and furniture and we even got a sofa with a cat compartment which is perfect. Highly recommend

EXTREMELY disappointing experience/Saying anything to secure a purchase. We are going to be acquiring a lot of furniture in the next two months for relatives (senior) home, but we decided to start with the living room so we went in to Leons to pick out a new living room set. We found one liked for roughly around $3500 and it was on sale. We checked in with Gordon to see if it was in stock but it was going to be out of stock until essentially the end of August as each piece was going to come in at different times. We were pressured to prepay to "keep the sale price" or else it would go back to normal price and they couldn't lower it again, but we declined and said we would come back in at the end of August when it's all in and just get it then; not a big deal to us. After walking around we also noticed a mattress we liked and since we were going to be needing to upgrade all of the beds in the house anyways, we decided to talk to the salesman again. After talking it over with my relative he talked about the benefits of delivery which basically sealed the deal. We were told that for a $50 fee Leon's would take our new mattress in and throw the old one on the truck and dispose of it... and living room set (still trying to get us to prepay for the living room set). It piqued our interest about the furniture removal because we didn't have the vehicle or manpower to dispose of it ourselves. We were told it would be around 5 days for delivery because of the weekend as well as already scheduled deliveries. We wanted it sooner so we said we would take it ourselves in the next day or so. We told him we'd see if we could pick it up the next day or so and if not we'd call back and pay for the delivery fee. Get up to the checkout and we are told if we want a satisfaction warranty on the mattress we need to pay for a $110 Leon's mattress protector for a 200 day warranty. Okay... tack that on as well! We purchase it in cash and head home. Later, we decided to do the delivery and call in to the store to have that setup. Woman on the phone says that since we waited it would now be 10 days for delivery, we discussed it while still on the phone and said how it wouldn't hurt to wait because the removal of the mattress was yet again worth it in the long run for us and the old mattress worked for now. Woman on the phone corrects us and says "no we don't dispose of things for you". We told her that this is what the store salesman said they do, and still nothing; won't dispose of it. We found a way to pick it up ourselves that day and saved the $50. The 110$ mattress protector we got when picking it up was just a regular one that was marked up for the warranty income, not really special in any way. Not impressed with how things weren't in stock, the way the salesman Gordon was saying anything to make a sale... especially the part about disposal of the mattress/living room set. I'm glad we didn't purchase/prepay for any of the higher value items like the living room set. Shouldn't be this much of a hassle when trying to help local businesses!!

We bought a set of appliances from Leons when they were in Charlottetown. Long story short our fridge after several repairs made to it by Atlantic Handyman deemed the fridge unfixable advised us to contact Leon to have the fridge replaced. That process started at the start maybe even earlier in the summer and we are still using the broken fridge. We were originally told it can take up to 6 weeks to get a replacement but here we are now in September. Keep in mind we have to pay the difference for the nee fridge AND delivery from Summerside. I called today to get an update and I kid you not the lady that answered the phone said the lady thats working on out file broke her arm and that to call back on Monday and that they are too busy to deal with warranty issues because they have a “big sale” currently going. So let this be a fair warning or heads up if you plan on dealing with Leons in Summerside

In early August, we purchased a new bed, with the agreement that it would be delivered later in the month, once our floors were completed. I received a call 2 weeks later, telling me that they had “accidentally” sold the bed but that if I would like to come in and take a look at the floor model, they could deliver that one for me. I asked about compensation for it being a floor model and they advised they’d refund my taxes. Not ideal, but I said I’d check out the floor model. On my way to the store, I hear the radio ad saying it’s TAX FREE WEEKEND. So they were offering to give me the floor model bed with my taxes back- it was like we hadn’t even gone in weeks ago. I spoke with Gary (the gentleman we had been dealing with) and asked- being as our bed (paid in full) was sold, there is currently a tax free sale so that isn’t really compensation to me, and I’m stuck with a floor model, would they keep their refund and just throw in a posture board for the bed. That was a no. And Gary did not make any suggestions as to another way he could compensate or make up for the mistake.

All in all, we had tried our best to shop in a local business in a time where shipping and delivery from out of province is easily accessible and relatively available. This “misunderstanding” has left a bad taste in my mouth. The same mouth that has no problem sharing my experience. If you’re going to cash and carry, you may have better luck. Otherwise, Leon’s and Birt’s Furniture may be a better option for you!

We moved to the Island without any furniture. We have furnished our entire house at Callbecks. The people in store have been a joy to work with... selling us quality furniture, but not pushing us to overspend. Their delivery has been fantastic each time. We will continue to shop here if we need anything else!

I do a lot of shopping at Callbecks Home Furniture since I moved back to P.E. I I love going through the items they have on display. They have great staff and really helpful. The delivery guys are nice and considerate also.

I went to Callbecks Home Furniture in Summerside PE to look for new appliances, 5 altogether. Sales was happy to take my $6000, July 19, 2023 delivery was good except for the dolly scuff marks left on the side of the fridge. August 21, 2023 we nothiced every in the fridge compartment was icing up, some things (veggies) froze; I called Alban at Callbecks to report the issue. He said he would take care of it before the September long weekend, likely they would just send out another fridge. Noithing happened; after a couple of phone calls to Callbecks (Alban and Melissa) then on September 28th they sent Thompson Appliance out to have a look. Thompson's said it is likely the circuit board that has failed but they don't have one in stock. Also it likely never worked from the beginning. They also found a part inside the back that was frozen solid, defrost wasn't working either.
October 4th after noth hearing anything from anyone I called Alban at Callbecks, he said I need to talk directly with Thompson's
Now October 17th, my Fridge is frozen and no response from anyone.
October 17, 2023 After my post, Gary from Callbeck's called to apologize (Sincerely). He said he just talked to Thompson's to find out the part is on backorder with no known time to become available.
They (Callbeck's) will bring a new replacement fridge out on October 18th.

Callbeck's delivered a replacement fridge, delivery staff were very experienced, careful, and thorough. The new model fridge is working as it should.
