I’ve been to M Square more times than I can count — it’s my go-to cake shop for almost every birthday. Their fresh cream cakes are truly some of the best I’ve had, and honestly, every flavor I’ve tried has been good.

Favorites? The taro is incredible, the strawberry is a classic, and their dragonfly cake (a summer seasonal item) is also lovely. I’ve even tried the soy milk and Oreo flavors — both were delicious too. No matter which one you pick, you really can’t go wrong when it comes to their cream cakes.

I’ve also tried their mille crêpe cakes, but personally, I think their fresh cream cakes are way better. So if it’s your first time, I’d definitely recommend sticking with those.

They did go through a brief closure a while back — I heard it was for renovations or maybe the owner taking time off — and after they reopened, they raised their prices a bit. Their smallest cake (5") is now more expensive than before, but I still go back. Yes, the value was better before, but even now, the quality makes it worth it.

If you’re looking for a beautifully made, light and flavorful Asian-style cake, M Square is absolutely worth trying — and chances are, you’ll keep coming back too.

The mille crepe here is a must-have item, delicately sweet with finely thin layers that melt like silk. The chiffon cake and mille crepe's cream is luxuriously smooth and dense. Very enjoyable in every bite. They offer pure, clean sweetness that doesn't overwhelm.
Haven't tried any drink but the cakes showcase exceptional technique.

I enjoyed the mango sago lava chiffon cake, which had a soft texture and a nice balance of sweetness from the mango. However, when I tried their crepes, I found them to be good but not worth the price. I ordered the durian crepes and was disappointed because I couldn't taste the durian flavor; it tasted more like vanilla. Upon closer inspection, I noticed only a thin layer of durian meat.

I also tried some durian cake from another place and found it to have an authentic durian flavor. Additionally, I tried the taro crepes and appreciated the texture of the taro, as I could actually taste the taro meat. However, there were only two thin layers of filling, which left me feeling disappointed with the overall quality.

I ordered a cake for my bday , the cake looked cute. However, the flavour was disappointing. The white cream on top was greasy and had odd salty taste. The blueberry-flavoured cream inside was very average. It didn’t have very natural milky and creamy flavour and tasted like it had some addictive mixed in. Only one good thing about the cake was the blueberry was good ~

M2 Cake has always been my favourite cake store in the GTA. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and have recommended it to many of my family and friends. But today, I’m sad to say goodbye.

I arrived at the store at 11:55 AM. The door was open, so I walked in. A staff member approached and told me they open at 12. She then stood there and watched as I walked out. I understand store policies, but I’m not sure what difference five minutes would really make—especially when the door was already open. More than anything, it was the attitude and the way the situation was handled that disappointed me.
