Just had a great experience at Mayhew Jewelers in Napanee! Super knowledgeable staff, and wow they seem to have everything...I did not know they carried sculpture art and gifts for special occasions like specific wedding anniversaries etc.
If you are in downtown Napanee you should pop in and take a look for sure. Note: for security reasons (maybe insurance too) they buzz you in at the door.

I got told what I wanted to sell my ring the owner told me I have to wait one week up to six months sometimes a year to get my money. I will not be returning there again.

Just left the store. What a great experience! Both Marlene and Hayley (I apologize if I misspelled your names) provided excellent personal service. Incredibly knowledgeable and went out of their way to explain my watch to me after battery replacement. A watch I didn't even purchase from them. The store itself is inviting and filled with jewelry of course but great clocks, glass art and wonderful gift ideas! Thank you so much!!

I hesitate to write this because I hate to downplay local Napanee businesses but I think this needs to be shared. I phoned Mayhew's to see if they enlarge rings. I was told they personally didn't but rings were shipped out on Mondays from their store and returned on the following Monday. I took my ring (1.4 ct diamond ring) in on Thursday Jan 5th, 2023 in the am. I was sized and told the owner (Marlene Sweet) would call me to discuss prior to the shipping off due to the side stones possibly being an issue. No calls Thursday or Friday or Saturday morning. I phoned Saturday afternoon, to talk to Marlene. I didn't want to miss the Monday shipment. She wasn't available. I waited until Thursday - a week after I had dropped it off without a call back from anyone at Mayhew's. My husband and I arrived at 8:50 am Thursday to pick it up - the store opens at 9 am. I want to shop local, but not if I have to endue this type of customer service. They never provided me with a voucher, claim ticket, or receipt at drop off because (quote/unquote from Marlene, the owner "It's a small town. We don't provide receipts" but they were willing to give it over to my husband whom they have never met without store proof of any kind - Yikes!. Unfortunately for my husband and me, they couldn't find my ring!!! Not in the safe, they were unsure if it had been picked up or it was about to be delivered back to the store or exactly where it was. No paper trail! With a lot of contradictions and attempts to bamboozle from Marlene and her very rude and insolent staff, I said I would wait for their call at home re. the location of my ring. Needless to say I will not be back! The ring had mysteriously appeared just prior to 1 pm Thursday after the kerfuffle. That was my first and last time at Mayhew's Jewellers. I have heard that if you would like a ring sizes or stones reset try Terri at Cobico in Kingston. She's honest and very professional. I also called a couple of customers who left negative comments as of Dec 2022 to present - only a month from my encounter. WOW! My complaint is nothing compared to theirs! BTW - When I mentioned to Marlene "face to face" that her staff was extremely rude to us when she left the store front to search for my ring in the back, and prior to her return, her reply was " I don't know what was said. I wasn't here." So much for the customer is always right. They just don't care.

Walked into the place to get an appraisal on a bracelet to be greeted with absolute disrespect. She asked how much I paid for it without even seeing it and said well what you paid is what it's worth even tho I bought it in a second hand store taking a gamble. She wouldn't give me any info on it.. NO HELP WHATSOEVER. Ive never had issues here before but I won't be going back in if she's at the desk!!

I've been to other jewellery stores in larger centres but none as friendly as this one. Also, this store has a great variety of products including some very nice gift ideas at very affordable prices. If you live in the Kingston or Belleville area, you should take a short drive to Napanee and visit this lovely little store. If nothing else, I'm sure that the staff will make you feel very welcome!

If I could give it less then one Stars i would, the onwer flat out lied to me and, many others I know. Don't get me wrong the stuff she sells you is beautiful. It's just not what you thought it was. Earrings that trun you green, a watch you can get ay Walmart for $30, and she will tell you it's a name brand when it's not.

I have come to know that Marlene makes good on things the customer is not happy with. Over the years she has been a great merchant to deal with.
