Excellent experience at MEC. I was looking for a new backpack for an upcoming backpacking trip. Madhil (spelling not sure) was super helpful in sizing and advice. I love going into MEC because I always find the staff so positive and happy to help. It really makes a difference when planning an adventure!

Won't buy anything from here again. Atmosphere has at minimum the same quality items at 1/3 the price - don't waste your money on the name brand. All the over priced things I bought here - backpacking tent and mattress were nothing special, and both their bags ripped open on their first backpacking trip in the middle of nowhere so I had to figure out my entire backpack situation (not easy with the mattress). No one has really helped me there either. (Why are high priced items becoming less reliable than WALMART stuff?!)

I’m genuinely conflicted writing this review. Over the past several weeks, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in the store while preparing for upcoming travel. Unfortunately, my overall experience has been disappointing. Many of the staff I’ve interacted with appeared disinterested, inexperienced, and slow to assist, which made the process unnecessarily frustrating.

However, I want to take a moment to highlight one outstanding individual — a young man named Kai. Every time I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with him, my experience has completely shifted. Kai is professional, kind, knowledgeable, and consistently goes above and beyond to help. His level of service stands out in a significant way, and he truly deserves recognition. Whatever he is being paid, it’s not enough. Kai clearly takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about the customers he serves.

The five stars I’ve given are solely in recognition of Kai’s exceptional service. Thank you, Kai — your efforts do not go unnoticed.

We had a phenomenal experience in the bike department today. We went in to buy a commuter bime (<$700), and Connor, their new bike tech, spent close to 90 minutes with us, msking sure I got the right bime for my needs. He then made sure the size/fit was correct, and helped us with adding extras to make it fully kitted out the way we wanted. He was professional, polite and informed. Thank you Connor.

I frequently visit this location to get geared up for backpacking and hunting trips. During my visits I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with Jordan on a few purchases and this guy is great. He provides top notch customer service and will check in on you to see if you have any questions and he’s got great product knowledge. Thanks for the great service Jordan!!
