We enjoyed our stay here. It felt like home and it was nice to have a full kitchen to prepare meals and a living room to relax in. We appreciated being shown around the town and learning some history. Wonderful hosts.

This is the fourth time I've been to Moosonee for business purposes. This was the first time I stayed at the LilyPad and it was amazing! One of my former bosses (smart man) said that when you're away on business for the company, you should be able to stay somewhere that is just as comfortable as you are at home. The LilyPad sure accomplishes that! If I came up on holidays I'd stay here too. Like others, I was pleasantly surprised, actually shocked when I saw the accommodations. Very spacious with a full kitchen, huge bathroom and two bedrooms. Not to mention, a pull out sofa, free wifi with great signal strength, satellite TV and very quiet. The fridge isn't full size but not mini either and you can get a lot in it. I brought a cooler with supplies with me and was very happy that I did. I don't understand how groceries can be so expensive up here and I feel for the residents. $17 for a frozen Delissio Pizza. Water for a buck a bottle. I don't submit a whole lot of reviews and this is my first on TripAdvisor because I've started to use it regularly and have found some great spots to stay, eat and visit. Too often nowadays people don't take the time to recognize or appreciate things. PAY IT FORWARD! 🙂

The Lilypad is a great hotel. My stay was very comfortable and i have no complaints other than them not accepting credit or debit cards. The place was very clean, comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook for the week. Fast wifi and satellite TV were included and much appreciated.

We've always wanted to visit Moosonee and were not disappointed. The Lilypad is all it promised to be and more. Karen and Amanda added a personal touch that enhanced an interesting experience. We did not avail ourselves of their fully stocked kitchen; instead ate our meals at the Sky Ranch restaurant where the staff were friendly, the meals were good and the facilities were clean.||We would definitely recommend the Liliypad.

We stayed in this place for 4 days the past Christmas and it was a good experience. Although there was not much to do during the Christmas season because most businesses were closed, we still enjoyed our holiday with family and friends.

The place was clean. The host (Karen) wasn't home but she had a friendly housekeeper named Elizabeth and she was really helpful. Karen's son Alex is a part-time fire fighter/emergency responder who does the construction work during the summer. If you call ahead, he might be able to take you to the woods showing you the traditional way of how indigenous make a living out of the land. That's right, he'll walk you to the trail, prepare the rabbit snares, show you the plants and features on the land. You might come back with a rabbit for dinner if you're lucky!

The winter up north is cold. But the winter of 2017 here in Moosonee is not much colder for Torontonians. After a bitter -40 C cold snap, they won't feel much worse in a -45 C day 🙂

I booked the Moosonee Lilypad from home and was very pleasantly surprised when I arrived.||I had a whole 1\2 house all to myself. Karen the owner and her daughter Amanda are very friendly and Amanda actually took me on a tour of Moosonee. She showed me things I would never have found on my own on foot. Amanda also suggested where I should go to dinner, the "Sky Ranch restaurant". ||The Moosonee Lilypad is immaculately clean and nicely equipped including a 55" ? TV with satellite channels. A very large bathroom with a tub/shower.||Also included is a full size kitchen, a refrigerator , microwave, all utensils and more.||Further on are questions about this hotel? This is not a hotel but I replied as if it were.

I wish to start off by thanking our great host Connie Hergott for an incredible stay at her guest house ‘The Moosonee Lily Pad ’.||||When planning our trip to Moosonee months ago, I looked around for a spot that said something, Connie’s guest house did that.||||Connie’s guest house is an absolute gem in the great reaches of northern Ontario.||||A fully self contained apartment, consisting of 2 bedrooms, full bathroom, full kitchen and living room is EXCELLENT value for money based on the area. An added bonus is a plasma tv with satellite and wi-fi with laptop||||A guest house is NOT a bed and breakfast, which can be a fun thing sometimes. We had complete total privacy and yet if we needed anything, Connie was most hospitable||||Locally, in Moosonee, there is a grocery store and LCBO, we were with minutes from the apartment. One can decide to stay and eat at home or go out and check the local restaurants out. Prices for the Moosonee grocery store were on average $1-$2 higher considering everything is shipped in by train.||||In closing if anyone is ever planning a trip to the far reaches of northern Ontario, I would be more than happy to recommend ‘The Moosonee Lilypad’||||5 Stars *||||Here is the website link to contact Connie for details;||||www.moosoneelilypad.ca/moosoneelilypad/
