I had heard about this consignment shop for years but it wasn’t until last year, when I was moving from a townhouse to a condo, that I decided to visit. I sold various furniture and art that I still loved but knew wouldn’t work in my new home. The staff has been excellent. I’ve found some fabulous pieces to buy, including a gorgeous large round mirror for my entranceway and some very pretty glass pieces for my shelves on my wall unit. The staff communicate clearly and it’s been voted best in the city for many years! I agree. Definitely worth a look! I will only deal with this shop in the future

This place is great! Pricing also based on length of time it's on the "shelf." Adds a bit of that good old auction feel. Great stuff, always rotating. Good pieces from really affordable to nearly to damn near unattainable. It's got a cafe inside too. Great little spot for a renovation date for new home buyers.

If you consider leaving something with them for consignment be careful of the terms. After a certain date, they take possession of your property and sell it independently and conveniently they won't provide you any notice or reminders. Did not love doing business with them, shady practices in my opinion. Be mindful if you consider selling your property with them 🙁

I give Of Things Past 4.5 stars.
Good variety of used/antiques. Furniture, paintings, mirrors, crystals, porcelain, books, rugs and more.
Nice set up and friendly staff.
The reason why I give the place less than 5 stars is because most things are overpriced, if I compare it to other places and by the time items get sold.
I've bought there a few things I'm happy with.

SCAM ALERT – Dishonest Practices!
Stay far away from this place. My mother had been a loyal customer here for over a decade, so I trusted them to consign several of my own furniture pieces. They told me my items were listed until December 9th. On December 3rd, I called and spoke directly with Steve to arrange pickup. He looked up my account and reassured me that I still had time, even after I mentioned the December 9th date. He also said I’d be notified before anything expired.

That never happened.

I followed up again by email after I felt like it was strange I hadn’t heard anything or been receiving any more cheques from sold pieces and i asked for an update —and that’s when they finally responded to tell me the time frame had passed and the items were no longer mine. No warning, no courtesy, no accountability. Completely unacceptable and unethical. I don’t know how they’re still operating. We will not be buying or selling here ever again.

The 'Of Things Past' store is a true treasure trove filled with well curated items ranging from antiques, mid-century, vintage and modern.
Items are beautifully displayed throughout two large showrooms.
Browsing in the store is a truly enjoyable experience with items displayed in vignette fashion, allowing a visually appealing display.
The employees are always welcoming, helpful and additionally very knowledgeable of the various items, name-brands and era-background.
A truly overall, enjoyable experience while visiting this store!!!!

A local vintage furniture shop in the city with lots of things to see, varying from mid-century modern, classical, Victorian style furniture, etc. Some items can bring you a blast from the past and others may seem like it can very well fit in with what's popular nowadays. A very easy stroll through and fairly large as well.

Have been to this location several times. If you like older, unique furniture, art work, and miscellaneous things you won’t find anywhere else then spend a few hours at this location and enjoy. 😀
