The Old Imperial Farmers Market in downtown Aylmer, Ontario is quickly becoming an iconic destination in our town. It opened about a year ago in space previously occupied by Imperial Tobacco who regretfully moved their operation to Mexico in 2005 creating tremendous job loss in our community. A group of local investors acquired the property and developed the the Elgin Innovation Center which is home to many local businesses, creating many new jobs in our community. There was still some space available so the original investors led by Jack Baribeau, developed a visionary concept which became the Old Imperial Farmers Market.
They have created a year-round sustainable market place which celebrates, supports and showcases  the best of what our community has to offer.

They have an eclectic roster of vendors that are really worth visiting from crafts to culinary. This place actually reminds me of a smaller version of the St Lawrence Market in Toronto.

Angela the General Manager and her colleague Becky do a terrific job of running this place. They are very engaging with visitors and extremely engaging with and supportive of the vendors.

We highly recommend this gem!

Nice little Market with lots of offering both culinary and arts and crafts. We had the pleasure of meeting Wanda of Wanda's Spices whose variety of hand-crafted spice combinations caught our attention, as well as her generosity towards others was refreshing. Her enthusiasm about her food and spice crafting was impressive.
If you are visiting Aylmer, be sure to stop into the Market and definitely stop and talk to Wanda.

Was kind of disappointed with the amount of empty booths. Wish there was more craft booths, more vegetable vendors. My niece enjoyed the play area. There was a very good presentation of food, the gluten free place was amazing. Everything was clean. I wish there was a booth with antiques (but that’s a personal preference). Overall, it was a very nice market just wish there was more boots and more variety!

Super cute and homey in here. 1st time going and was a lovely experience. Go check out Wanda's she's amazing! Awesome personality and a great love and passion for her seasonings (which are sooo good and gluten-free).

A great variety of goods are available. The feel of the place is great too! Lots of produce, a great café with coffee, tea and baked goods. You can get great pizza, snacks, clothing, furniture, baked goods, and even paintings too!
The bike rack is great for my family, but it seems like an afterthought because it's difficult to get to because of the placement of outdoor vendors and parking spot for cars is in front of an easy access point to the bike rack.

Awsome place to grab coffee, lunch or all the fresh ingredients for dinner at home. The atmosphere is family friendly with great vendors offering meat, vegetables, tortillas, coffee, ice cream, popcorn, candy, custom furniture, yarn, posters, custom shirts to complete tiny houses and so much more! It is worth the trip on a Saturday. I was out from Winnipeg and am happy to have finally made it to this market! Great work has been done here! Check it out.

Not a bad Farmers market the vendors seem very knowledgeable and friendly. It feels like something is missing, needs a few more local produce options.
