This is a very interesting kids store packed with toys, clothes, baby carriages and even footwear. If you are a parent of young children, I would check this store out. There is a lot to look at.

Went to once upon a child in Langley Thursday April 24 2025 I have three gift cards that I have been meaning to use walked around and picked stuff out with my daughter got to the till and was told that because of new owners and the old owners taking the pin pads that they are having issues and are unable to accept any gift cards at this time… with no date of when they will be. I was like umm wtf as I know one of them has $50 dollars on it I took a step away for a min because I wasn’t going to not let my daughter get anything even though I really wanted to just leave with nothing, so we kept 1 pair of shoes and 2 jeans ( cause that’s what we really went for ) when I went back to the till I then asked for a discount at least which the other employee did offer me a 20% discount I accepted and we left I checked the front door no notice or sign saying they are not accepting gift cards at this time, checked their fb page nothing in their description so heads up to anyone who may have gift cards they were planning on using!

Really disappointed. Popped in from Chilliwack last night as I was in the area. Grabbed these water shoes for my son. There were two pairs in the size 9 bin, both labelled 9.5. They’re not even close to 9.5. They’re maybe a size 7! Doesn’t fit my son and now I can’t even return them. What a waste of money. Please properly label your items and properly label the other pair so you don’t waste more people’s money. I noticed this on a few other pairs of shoes. Boots labelled size 5 that were actually a size 4 as per the imprint on the boot. Thank God I caught that and didn’t waste more money. Also noticed their pricing is wild. George pants for $4.99 when Walmart sells them for $4!

I usually shop and sell at the White Rock Once Upon a Child and have always had great experiences there. This time, I was in Langley and decided to give this location a try, i’ve never sold to this location but have been a long time buyer.

I brought in two large totes (the same ones I always use at White Rock with no issues). I figured two large totes would be easier than juggling six smaller ones—especially since I had my 2-year-old with me. When I dropped off the first tote, I was met with a comment about needing to bring smaller ones next time. The tone felt unnecessarily rude, but I apologized anyway and made a mental note.

When I returned a few hours later to pick up my items, both totes were behind the counter. One of the younger staff asked an older employee with short white hair standing nearby if she could bring them over. The older woman loudly said she wouldn’t be touching them again because she had already “tweaked her back” from them earlier and that I could grab them myself. I was standing right there—clearly the comment was directed at me. Several other employees were behind the counter, but none offered to help.

As I was speaking with another staff member, the same older woman came up again to reiterate (in front of customers and staff) how I caused her back pain and started listing things I shouldn’t do next time. It was really embarrassing, especially for someone like me who already feels anxious in public or when being singled out.

I also had everything folded & nicely in the totes the when i picked it up them
to be tossed in there, some
inside out. Found it to
be quite rude, considering they most likely wouldn’t accept my clothes if i brought them there just tossed in.

This was a disappointing experience. I’ve always recommended Once Upon a Child to friends and family because of how helpful and kind the staff usually are. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t reflect the standard I’ve come to expect.

I recently heard there was new ownership so decided to give this OUAC another shot. I was not disappointed.... walked out with far more quality items than I intended as there were so many good items! At the rate these kids grow buying brand new shorts halfway thru summer seems silly so we were happy to find a great selection and one was even brand new. Call out to Jessica that was very helpful. We will be back 🙂

This place is Under New Ownership and thank goodness! I had $80 credit disappear from my file before this new owner took over, they would not return my calls or give me a receipt to show the purchase so I randomly called in today again to check in on it add to my surprise there was new ownership and she did not know about the situation. She was able to pull up the account and saw that cash was withdrawn but I never accepted any cash. I decided to just let it go and go back into shop because I needed some summer outfits for my son and she offered to give me a 60% discount which exceeded my original credit. I know this was not her fault hence why I didn't punish the business and take my business elsewhere but I did appreciate the discount and definitely will be back to support the small business. Thank you for your help see you soon!

I came to this store in November and was really impressed with how they colour coordinated all the clothing versus their other locations. That day the new owner was in store so everyone was really nice & really pleasant. I came back 2 months later (just last week) the owner wasn’t working and the staff weren’t as friendly. It’s obvious they act nicer when the owner is there.

I brought 3 small diaper boxes of items. This was first thing in the morning, there was no busy crowd. It took over an hour for them to sort it. They told me they help you on a first come serve basis but then continued to stop and help people coming in with 1-2 items & then quickly credit their items in between sorting mine.

Clothing that I had purchased from them in November and didn’t end up using was now not good enough for their store. This didn’t make sense to me.

They removed batteries from the toys I brought in. Then gave them back saying they couldn’t take them but threw all my batteries away?!?! Why?!

They sent a lot of the stuff I brought in back home with me. It took them over an hour to tell me that.

I have a credit remaining at this store and don’t think I’ll go back. South surrey is sooo busy but they treat you WAY better.

I’m giving this store a 2 because that initial day the owner was nice.

The new owners have really tanked the place. The prices have soared, I can get things cheaper new now. New Tuffo Muddy Buddies are $43… Amazon has them for $41 👎🏻 The staff were complaining about all the crying babies and kids, yeah it’s a children’s store! I heard another customer ask if they had a blue rocking horse, the other staff goes “it’s consignment lady” - so RUDE, will not be returning
