Once upon a child is incredible for bringing in your childrens used old clothing or toys!
Let's admit we can have an abundance of our childs stuff where sometimes it's unknown what to do with it all.
They have a great turnover rate with an amazing selection of products.
The store is always so friendly and clean where you're guaranteed to find the best items that been laundered, in great condition, and ready for the next owner.
You'll find the best deals here for purchasing preloved items.
It's wonderful to have once upon a child in our community. Definitely check them out!

I've been buying clothes for my 11 year old boy here for 8 years & my 1 year old daughter for all of her life as well! Always an amazing selection of used clothing here for both kids. The staff ensures all garments are clean with minimal fading and no staining. Name brands for incredible prices & at the rate kids grow, I don't know why you would go any other way. We feel good knowing we can bring our outgrown clothes here for resale while purchasing second hand and minimizing our footprint a little bit!
The staff and owners/management are helpful, efficient and keep a clean and organized store.
I've checked out a couple in Calgary and other cities, and I would come to Medicine Hats' location every single time.

I wont be coming back here and I let all my mom friends know. I have been to a handful of once upon a child stores across Alberta and BC and this one is by far the most overpriced and has the largest collection of extremely used mostly play condition clothing on their shelves. Prices are 8-9$ on heavily washed faded shirts and up to 14+$ for shorts with runs in the fabric and more than normal wear. Insanity! I've now had 2 unpleasant experiences with the customer service. Shame on me for waisting my money and time supporting this store.

Honestly, don't even bother with this place. You are much better off posting your items for sale on the buy and sell sites. Not only will you get more money for your items, but you won't be inconvenienced with dropping off and picking up your stuff. I dropped items off on a Friday afternoon, I was told to come back in on Monday to pick up the cash and remaining items. Came back in on Tuesday, and my box was burried under a whole pile of stuff, and completely forgotten about.
The amount of stuff I brought in was just a small box, and they didn't even offer to go through it for me right then and there. I'm from out of town and had made a special trip to drop it off and to pick it up. This is unacceptable business practice. I have been a seller and purchaser at this location for a long time, and I can tell you for sure that I won't be back.

Very busy place and quick turnover of clothing. I've found that their sales only apply to a very small portion of the goods, not worth making a special trip for the sale. If you are selling used kid's clothing to them, you drop it off in the morning, they review it at some point during the day and you have to come back by that night to pick up what they don't accept or it disappears, who knows where. Not very handy for a mom who lives a significant distance out of town, and who has 12 hours to waste in town waiting? Some of their toy sets are missing pieces, but they try to ensure that nothing significant is missing. That said, I've gotten some good deals, especially for children's footwear. And the term "gently used" is usually true.

My husband went in to buy shoes for our toddler. The lovely lady at the store took the time to sit on the floor with my husband and son and try on many, MANY pairs of shoes until they found one in the bin that fit. My husband also said she was giving him tips about the shape of my little's feet and what to look for when buying shoes for him in the future. This is just one of many fantastic experiences I've had at this store.

As far as selling those it's usually not worth your time or effort as the store is extremely picky on what they take. As for buying it gets 3 out of 5 stars. The store is generally overcrowded and hard to walk through. It's usually difficult to find the sizes you need is lots of things are out of order. Their prices are a tad bit High considering you could go buy brand new for a couple extra dollars although they do have some higher and brand names and you can sometimes find a steal of a deal. The staff are all nice and I have no complaints about service.

Their okay... prices can be pretty high for a second hand store other prices are great. I will add I have bought a few outfits from them that my daughter never wore so I brought them back for resale and they said they couldn’t accept them because “they were to worn”...
