My son took in a big bag of really good clothing he sold most of them he got $88 but the lady said next time don't bring it in a clear garbage bag because it tends to wrinkle the clothes and they don't buy wrinkled clothes. Like seriously dude.. they're used clothes I think wrinkled is the least of your worries. People are going to wash them obviously stains and rips I understand are a no-go but wrinkles come on!
Also the girl said it would take about 2 hours but it was more like 3..
And she said bring them in a bin next time or a box.
We went in late July 2025 and there seems to be a lot of product pretty packed.
Anyway I understand they are extremely picky on what they're buying... I don't go there personally but I just went with my son because he doesn't have time to sell them on marketplace

Disappointing Customer Service Experience

I visited the store recently and was disappointed by the lack of customer service. While waiting for a fitting room, multiple staff members passed by without acknowledging me. At first I thought maybe all the rooms were occupied. It became apparent that the fitting rooms were unoccupied, yet I had to actively seek assistance to access one. The staff member I approached seemed inconvenienced by my request. I felt like a burden, and in this day and age- life is hard, and why should I be made to feel that way when I’m out shopping for clothes on my day off.

At checkout, I wasn't prompted about my loyalty points or account, which is typically standard practice. I understand that retail work can be challenging, but consistent customer engagement is crucial. This experience has made me reconsider supporting this business in the future.

I wish i would have read reviews before coming here.. I came with a basket full of nice almost new clothing. Aritzia , AE/ aerie, brunette the label , dynamite etc . They wanted two items for 18$ .. which I refused, I asked what the issue was and was told lies..
I have sold to once upon a child for years and am meticulous when consigning. OUAC always takes nearly every item I bring and praise my items. I assumed Plato’s closet would be similar lol

Also , when I was in store looking around was not at all impressed by the stock they have ..

Don’t waste your time
I would rather give my stuff to someone in need

I love this place. Never need to go to value village again and they are cheaper and way better quality. The manager runs the store fairly whether your buying or selling.

Tried this place out for the first time , took a bag of name brand clothes there still with tags. Went back in and they gave me 11$ for mutiple dresses and a pair of shoes. Will never go there again , should of taken them back but they never offered either.

I honestly don’t mind the low pay out from consigning, because the clothes are affordable to shop here and I get you’re trying to have a buisness. My problem is the safety of this store. When you are in the change room, security cameras can see you naked while changing in the change rooms through the mirror. Super uncomfortable and unsafe vibes Plato

Don't bother trying to consign anything here. I don't understand why they advertise so much on their social media that they want people to drop stuff off. They don't offer you any money for any items, regardless of brand or anything. An unbelievable waste of time. Dropped off multiple bags of items and they said it would be 4 hours cause there was 22 people ahead of me! They didn't text me that anything was ready for pick up the following day (20+ hours later). Then offered literally a few dollars for 2 items. Why even bother accepting drop offs for consignments? I genuinely don't understand why they waste their time and your time.
