I had the most amazing experience at Promises & Lace! The boutique itself is beautiful and elegant with an incredible selection of gowns.

Lynn and Carole were warm and knowledgeable and made sure the entire process was personal, fun and stress-free. The attention to detail was impeccable, and both went above and beyond to ensure I felt confident and comfortable, even stepping in to make sure alterations were perfect.

Their care and dedication meant so much to me during such an important time. I’m so glad I found my gown here! 🩷

Promises and Lace was by far my favourite bridal boutique that I visited while looking for my wedding dress! The service is unlike anything we see anymore in this day in age. The staff are very kind, professional, and classy. They are not at all pushy, like many of the other bridal boutiques I've been to. Laura was of great help and immediately picked dresses that I loved based on a few inspiration photos that I showed her.

The selection of dresses is also far beyond what I've seen elsewhere. I was looking for a more classic and timeless look, and had a hard time findings dresses of this sort at other boutiques, as they appeared to only carry styles that were "trendy". Promises and Lace, on the other hand, has a large variety of styles and silhouettes, where you're sure to find something you'll love, whether it's classic, trendy, or unique!

The shop itself is also very beautiful and I appreciated that they have a variety of sizes available to try dresses on as it's hard to get an idea of what the dresses will look like in my size when there is a lot of extra fabric.

They have an in-house seamstress who is also amazing and she even helped teach members of my bridal party how to bustle my dress. The team there also ensured that my dress was steamed to perfection and brought straight home and hung up to avoid any wrinkles before the wedding day.

Thank you to everyone at the boutique for all your help! I will be recommending the boutique to any friends who are getting married!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Promises and Lace. Both the owner Lynn and Carole made my experience seamless and special. They knew exactly the gowns to pull to fit my shape, we had a lot of laughs and some special moments too. They knew all the timing and fitting schedules and made it really easy for me. They added a lot of personal touches to the experience and I thoroughly enjoyed going and seeing them all. It’s a special place. I am so happy I purchased my gown there.

Due to personal circumstances, I desperately needed a dress; I didn’t have a lot of runway between getting engaged and when we were going to be married. So with my mom’s help, we called different places asking whether there were dresses that I could get off the rack with little to no alterations. Lynn, the owner, assured my mom they had a decent selection of dresses that could be bought off the rack, and encouraged us to come and visit their store to try some on. I followed up separately to book an appointment. I went alone and met with an associate, Carol, when I arrived. I was a little intimidated that I was the only one in the store, but Carol was very friendly and immediately asked me what I was looking for and what my budget was so she could assist me. I hesitantly showed her 3 photos of dresses I liked, nervous that they wouldn’t have anything readily available let alone one that I liked. Carol proceeded to pick out a handful of dresses in my size (which she never actually told me) and with each one I tried on she asked me what I liked and didn’t like. Her experience was evident when she provided me with her own opinion after I asked for it, about what looked good and what didn’t on my body. After the first two she confidently pulled out a couple dresses that were more suited to the simplicity I was favouring. It was the fourth dress I tried on and I liked it immediately; although I started gaslighting myself thinking there’s no way I had found my dress within the first 30 minutes of stepping into the store. Carol was so experienced, kind, and could see I was second guessing my gut feeling, so she encouraged me to try on a few more, each one aligned with elements or features I had told her I liked. I didn’t love any of them as much so it was clear I had found my dress. When I came out of the dressing room holding the dress she assisted me with purchasing and walked me through next steps: Carol stated I could take it anywhere to be altered since I only needed minor adjustments (a tuck at the hips, shortening the straps, hemming the bottom of the dress) but if I wanted, I could bring it back to the seamstress they were partnered with (they have a small office in the back of the store). Carol clarified that it was a separate business, and that I could book an appointment with Kay for a different date/time. So an hour after I walked in, I walked out carrying a dress I loved that fit me nearly perfectly. Promises and Lace was the first bridal store I went to. Two days later, I had another appointment at a different bridal store (in downtown Toronto) and did not find anything else that I liked. The other store had 1 on 1 service, however Carol’s experience spoke volumes as the associate from the other store was not as helpful in showing me styles I liked, or showing me options in my budget. A week later I was back at Promises and Lace to meet Kay for minor alterations. Kay was also wonderful and knew exactly where it needed a little here and there, she pinned it and I was so happy with it. After that I only tried it on once more to make sure the alterations were what I wanted and the rest is history! On wedding day I received so many compliments on my dress and I felt beautiful and like myself the whole time. I had also practiced our first dance with a longer skirt similar to my dress, and in my heels, so our routine went off without a hitch. I would recommend Promises and Lace anytime; the experience and professionalism in the service I received from Carol and Kay was far above the other store I went to. They made me feel looked after, listened to, and were totally accommodating to my needs and circumstances.

I bought my dress and veil from Promises & Lace in March of 2022 for my September 2023 wedding. Everyone at the shop is incredibly friendly, and very experienced. It was such a nice experience to have found my dress here. Carol is the person who found my dress for me. She was such a pleasure to work with, and to me that is so important during the process of planning one of the most important days of my life. They kept my budget in mind when presenting me with dresses to try on. As a plus size bride it was so great to have sample size dresses that fit, and ultimately I was able to see and choose exactly what I liked and did not like. The entire staff is extremely professional, yet somehow with each visit it felt like visitng family. I felt beautiful, valued, and safe with every interaction I had with everyone at Promises and Lace. It is clear that they love what they do, and providing brides with top quality service is their priority. Timelines and estimates given were spot on, so we were able to coordinate order and delivery with ample time for alterations. The attention to detail, the professionalism, and the charisma of Carol, Lynn and the entire team made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this shop for all things wedding. I am so grateful to the entire staff for all of their help in making my wedding a dream come true!

I could not recommend Promises and Lace more! I had an absolutely wonderful experience start to finish. When I walked in from the very beginning Carol made me feel so special. Her years of experience and expertise were clear with the dresses she pulled for me it was a completely different experience!! She was so knowledgeable, kind and helpful. She helped me find both my wedding dress and second dress both of which I was beyond happy with (and so surprised I never would have pulled them for myself). My alterations were done by Kay who was so sweet and so talented. I would highly recommend visiting this store during your bridal journey so an amazing experience!!

I had the most incredible experience at Promises & Lace! The ladies made me feel so special and worked hard to find me the perfect dress. This was the first place I went to look at dresses and I didn't have to look any further. The ladies saw how much I loved the dress and how perfectly it fit me and gave me the option to take home the dress that same day! The seamstress was amazing and she was able to make some little repairs to the beading on the dress last minute. I am so grateful and have nothing but great things to say about the whole team at Promises & Lace! My day was absolutely perfect.
