I bought two pails of resisto four-year driveway sealer, rona's house brand. When I shook the pails and opened they smelled like rotten eggs and were thick like porridge. I actually thought there was a gas leak on the street because my neighbor could smell it as well. I took them back the next day and the assistant manager was argumentative saying there was nothing wrong with them and he would resell them. But he wouldn't open the pail... I've been doing renovations for 21 years...perhaps it's harder for a franchise store, I left feeling quite peeved but they did give me a refund. you can't store some products in a glass vestibule with variable temperatures.

I completed a survey that Rona emailed to me and included pictures of my finished deck. Following is my review and the response I got. They don't say what "guidelines" I failed to meet, perhaps it wasn't sufficiently positive?

This is my honest review:

Decent lumber but pick your own if possible.

I had 60 pieces of 2x6x12' PT delivered for my new deck. Most of it was decent but they did include 3 pieces that were clearly unusable. I was able to return for a refund but wish they had been more selective with delivered materials.

This is what resulted:

"Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!"

The guys and teenagers were amazing in the yard. They loaded 60 bags of soil super quick, with an amazing attitude. Highly recommend. Best service ever!

If I wanted to get belittled by a bunch of teenagers I would have stayed in high school .
Instead of smirking behind someone back and laughing
On top of that running off without telling me I had pay was rude
Swearing in the lumber yard on your phone watching videos isn't good for business
Work on the attitude be respectful
Not everyone who walks in the store is your personal clown to laugh at

A cute little location. Large building supply yard.

They dont always have everything you need, but you can order it in if not in a rush. Relaxed employees were always available to help without being intrusive. I want to give them a 5, but the smaller location leading to lower stock hurts it abit, but i put that more on the town size rather than a RONA issue.

My go to store for building supplies.

When I entered the store..it was like I was in a college common room, about 8 staff I there early 20s. I'm not being negative .Just an observation. On the downside, when I went to the yard to my purchases, again 4 or 5 young staff. NONE of whom wanted to help me and the oldest staff member. The items I bought were almost 100lbs each, so I was not impressed by yard staff as they all just hung around the gatehouse .Finally yard boss came over, only to grab the ticket of the staff member helping me.

We are a local design and construction company and Rona is our go to store. The customer service is fantastic, everyone is always very helpful! The selection is great. Highly recommend!
