Wow, where do I even start. What an absolutely pathetic way to run a business. If you don’t feel like reading the rest of this review, just know that this place is run by dishonest, rude people. Don't waste your time and money here.

Let me preface this by saying I almost never leave bad reviews. Check my profile, most reviews I leave are positive. I know how hard it is to run a business these days, and I don’t like dragging anyone down. But Ruito somehow made me completely disregard that. Starting a business is a privilege, and it’s a shame this one is being wasted on con artists.

Last week, I bid on a bunch of items (clothing, 3 PS5 controllers, and a few other things). The controller listings had no description and only showed stock images pulled from Google or Amazon. Important note: every time I’ve seen used or damaged items on Ruito before, it’s clearly stated. If there’s no condition listed, it usually means the item is new. That’s how it’s always been, and I’ve bought many controllers from them without issue until now.

Two of the three controllers I received were absolutely disgusting. Caked with crust, crumbs, and dead skin. One was so bad I wouldn’t even touch it. The third one looked new, but had scratches around the USB-C port (clear signs of use). So, I brought this up to the staff. They make it very clear: no returns once you leave the building, so I flagged it on the spot.

The owner came over, and I calmly explained the issue. I asked for a refund, or at least a partial refund. I told her I wouldn’t have spent over $50 on USED controllers, let alone ones in that condition. She claimed they weren’t used. After a few minutes of back and forth, I suggested they refund the controllers since they were clearly misrepresented. That’s when she blew up. She accused me of being a reseller/exporter and launched into a rant about how resellers make more money than she does, how hard it is to run a business, and how she has to pay her employees more every year due to minimum wage increases. Then she looked at the other items I bought (some sweatpants and cheap headphones) and said I “got those for cheap” and shouldn’t be greedy.

Let’s address each point:

1) I don’t bid for the sole purpose of reselling. I keep most of the stuff I buy. If I don’t need it, I might sell it. Regardless, it's none of their business. The listing is a binding agreement. If I win the bid, I pay. Their end of the deal is to list the item accurately. She claimed checking controllers is “too much work,” which is untrue. Most of their other controller listings DO show condition. These didn’t. She lied to my face.

2) Just because I won some other items at a good price doesn’t give them the right to screw me over. I still paid around $120 for three falsely advertised controllers. If they didn’t want to sell something cheap, they should’ve set a reserve. That’s not my problem. You can’t use that against the buyer.

3) Trying to emotionally manipulate a customer by complaining about how hard it is to run a business and how employee wages are rising? Pathetic. That’s not an excuse to deny a refund. If you ran the business honestly, you wouldn’t have to rely on shady tactics to squeeze a few extra dollars. This business model isn’t sustainable.

Despite remaining calm and polite the entire time, I was given a $20 refund across all three controllers. Still a total rip-off, but whatever. Then I was told to never come back
for daring to exercise my rights as a customer.

Below, I’ve included photos of the controllers, a screenshot of the invoice showing no indication that the controllers were used, and separate listings where condition info is provided, proving their excuse about not checking items is total garbage.

And, just to top it all off? This fine establishment has an F rating on the Better Business Bureau website. That should really tell you everything you need to know. Pathetic.

I have purchased items from a few auction houses in Mississauga, and have had great experiences everywhere except for here.

I bid on a lot of 4 pillows and when I went to pick them up, they only had 2. I was told they would refund me half the price I paid as compensation for their error. That seemed fair to me. That was the very beginning of July and I have still not received my refund. I was told it would take 10 business days to initiate the refund. As of today, 13 business days have passed - still no refund.

I foolishly bid on another item from them and when I went to pick it up, it was damaged. The item was an air mattress. The listing said nothing about it being used or damaged in any way. With the other auction houses I've used, that has meant the item is in new or like-new condition. When I arrived to pick it up, not only was the air mattress absolutely filthy, but it also had a hole in it. When I complained, I was first told the listing said it was "slightly used" so I would not be given a refund. I pulled the listing up on my phone and asked them to show me where it said that. They could not, as it did not, I had a refund approved for that item as well, and again was told it would be 10 business days. Well, those days have passed, and still no refund. I have contacted their customer service asking for evidence this is being processed before I initiate a dispute with my credit card company, but I have little faith at this point that anything is being processed on their end. I shouldn't have to follow up on a refund with a merchant - an honest business processes refunds as they say they will.

There are several other auction houses in the Mississauga area who are efficient and honest - bid on items from them and not this one!

By far one of the most frustrating, dishonest, and poorly run auction warehouses I’ve ever dealt with.

Nothing about the experience was smooth or organized. Orders are not prepared in advance—staff only begin scrambling to look for your items after you arrive. Complete lack of efficiency and planning.

The items I received were nothing like what was shown online. Described as “brand new,” but actually used, damaged, filthy, and missing key components. Totally deceptive listings—borderline false advertising.

They charge a so-called “handling fee,” yet do no real handling. Items are not prepped, sorted, or even located before pickup. It’s hard to understand what exactly that fee is for, besides wasting more of your money.

The appointment system is a joke. I booked a time and still stood in line for nearly an hour, only to be told that the items were either missing or didn’t match the description. I ended up getting a refund—but not before losing my time, fuel, and patience for absolutely nothing.

This place is a disorganized mess with zero professionalism, zero accountability, and zero respect for customers. Avoid at all costs if you value your time, money, or basic honesty.

What an absolute disaster of an auction warehouse.

First off, don’t bother booking an appointment—it's meaningless. I had one, showed up on time, and still waited nearly an hour. And for what? To be told the items were either missing or nothing like what I actually ordered.

Their listings are completely misleading. Items advertised as “brand new” arrived used, broken, dirty, and missing parts. It’s basically false advertising, but dressed up as an auction site.

They charge a “handling fee” for what, exactly? Nothing is handled ahead of time. Nothing is organized. Staff don’t even start looking for your stuff until you show up. Why charge fees for a service that doesn’t exist?

This place runs on disorganization, excuses, and wasted time. No professionalism. No respect for customers. No accuracy in listings.

If you're thinking about buying from here—don’t. You’ll likely waste your time, lose your money, and leave angry.

The pickup experience is horrible as the staff, not their fault, spends way too much time hunting for items. They also sell things that are clearly broken. When you bring it to their attention, they promise to issue a refund, but it never happens. I use several auction houses, Ruito is the worst. Other sellers on Hibid.com are safer.

Ruito Trading Inc. should NOT be trusted. My experience with them has been nothing short of outrageous. I won 34 items in one of their auctions — 10 of them were either broken, missing key parts, non-functional, or outright NOT what was advertised.

Here’s just a sample of what I received:

A cutting board snapped in half

Electronic items that don’t even power on

Products with missing accessories

A cheap knockoff brand instead of what was listed

Items that were clearly used or defective

The listings gave NO indication of any of these issues. This isn’t just bad service — it’s blatant misrepresentation.

When I picked up the items, their warehouse staff told me to check everything at home and email them if there were problems. I did exactly that and sent a detailed complaint with photos on April 7 — that’s over 2 months ago. Since then, all I’ve received is delayed, dismissive, or no responses.

They hide behind their “all sales final” policy — but that doesn’t cover false advertising and knowingly selling faulty goods. That’s called dishonesty, plain and simple.

No refund. No credit. No accountability.

Buy at your own risk. If something’s wrong, you’re on your own. Their customer service is a black hole, and their business practices are shady at best.

Waited 1hr 5mins to pickup 2 items which resulted in missing an appointment at another place. Unacceptable. I now have to make arrangements to make another trip 45 mins away. 1 Star. They need to hire more staff and better check their items since some of the delay was due to customers asking for refunds or showing that items were broken or missing parts, allegedly. Such a frustrating waste of my time. Should have been in and out of there in 15 mins max. not 1hr 5 mins.
