I guess I should have read the reviews before renting a unit here. As numerous people have mentioned they just jack up the price whenever they want to. Mine just went from $100 to $199 after 5 months. It's not only outrageous it is also a very shady business practice.

When I called to dispute the amount charged on my card I was told that in the contract it says they can change the rent at any time. SHADY. 100% increase doesn't seem like it should be legal. Seems like a scam to me. I will report to The Better Business Bureau,

I see there are a lot of positive reviews, and I thought they were really nice when I first put my stuff there too. Pay attention to the reviews of people that actually have had their stuff there for a while. I am not the only one this has happened to, it looks like it's their regular practice.

This is the second time I have rented a storage locker from Smartstop at this location. The facility is bright and clean. The washroom is spotless. I received excellent customer service. I had a very specific short term need for a 10 x 15 locker. I was given a locker that faced the street on the fourth floor. The view was beautiful. The lighting was excellent. I was able to execute a project I was working on with ease. I would definitely rent here again. I have tried another facility, and this is far superior.

Did a move for a client into this facility. It was very clean and better than the other facilities I’ve been. Michelle does an excellent job maintaining the storage and deserves a raise for her hard work.

Was there today (Sat. Feb 22nd, 2025) for accessing my newly rented unit, and I agree with other reviewers about front desk customer service being very lacking (to say the least).

I drove from another town to find that the place was randomly closed during business hours because the front desk staff was out for lunch (see photo). This was around 1:20pm, so employee benefits must be pretty good for the company to give staff 1.5 hour lunch breaks. With no one at the office, I couldn’t access my unit as the “check out” process must be done in person (or online, more on that later) for first time access. It was impossible to connect with anyone over the phone or via chat. The online checkout process was broken on the site, so there was no other option than to wait.

Came back at 3pm, and while the customer service lady eventually completed my reservation and gave me all access codes, attitude was very poor. Even pushed me for autopay (no, it’s not mandatory), told me I have to personally come in every month to make payments (no I don’t, can pay online).

Also, one loading bay door was out of service, so it was a mess with vehicles entering through the other two available doors.

Place is clean (that’s why it gets 2 stars), but that’s pretty much it. Reservation online is a mess, and lack of customer service does not improves the situation. I’ll be out in a few weeks from this location as my storage needs are short term, but for others looking for long term storage, I recommend to look someplace else.

Extremely professional and helpful staff! The facility is clean, and moving things into the unit is quick with the provided carts and elevators.

This place is so clean and well run. The staff is also professional and friendly. As a result, the overall service is excellent.

Also, the cleanliness and all indoor units makes this place a pleasure to visit.

My experience with this location has been very poor. My rental rate was increased by nearly 50% after only 5 months renting in the facility. I have called several times to request they honour the rate I initially had and no one calls you back. Customer service is dismissive. If asked for my recommendation, I would suggest you look for other storage options.
