I visited this store two weeks ago and had an extremely unpleasant experience. I was singled out for carrying a backpack, which happens to also be my purse, and was told that if I didn’t hand it over, I wouldn’t be allowed to shop. There was no visible policy regarding the handling of personal items. The staff’s behavior was racial profiling, and they were completely unwilling to listen or show any understanding.

I reached out to head office and was informed that this was supposedly a policy at all Sporting Life locations. However, when I visited different locations with the same bag, I discovered that this policy wasn’t enforced at the other stores, nor was there any visible notice about it.

As a result, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere. Everything sold at the store can be purchased directly from the brands themselves, so I will no longer be supporting a business that doesn’t treat its customers fairly. Until there's a clear commitment to consistent and respectful treatment of all customers, I’m removing my lifetime customer value from Sporting Life.

I had an amazing experience with the store manager, Kyle. He assisted me with a jacket return and was able to accommodate and answer everything I asked him. He and his top sales associate (I'm sorry, I forgot his name!!) went above and beyond to find the right jacket and to ensure I was comfortable and happy with my purchase. It's not easy managing a store this size and complexity, Kyle you truly stood out and helped in all manners while still ensuring other customers were being looked after. Thank you for a great experience today!

I recently made a purchase at the store and requested an email receipt. However, the email receipt did not go through. Unfortunately I did not realize until later that night. After calling the store the next day and speaking with Steven, I was pleasantly surprised on how fast and efficient Steven was at locating my receipt and emailing it back to me. I believe that Steven’s efforts should be recognized. Thank you Steven and Sporting Life team!

I had a great experience shopping for a new ski setup at Sporting Life! I had initially gotten fitted for some junior boots due to my smaller size the day I purchased my skis and other gear and on the day we were supposed to pick up the skis with bindings, we received a call from Kyle who told us that he didn’t feel comfortable with fitting the ski bindings on for the boots I had purchased due to my previous experience and level in skiing. He explained to us what his concerns were and that he had actually found adult boots that would fit me better (size and flex index wise) and had set them aside. We went to the store the same day and Kyle patiently helped me with another fitting of several ski boots, walking us through what he was looking for and how the boots should actually fit as well as a couple other benefits that came with the adult boots. We ended up upgrading to the adult boots and haven’t regretted it! Kyle was super professional and knowledgeable about skis and its gear - we’ll be coming back to see him if we have any questions/concerns and recommending him to our friends as well!
