Amazing experience with Gordie. This being only my 2nd tattoo and much more detailed and intricate than my 1st , I was both excited and quite nervous. Gordie’s gift of talking and making you feel relaxed , was just what I needed.
He is an extremely talented artist and I absolutely love my tattoo. Very professional in every way. Clean shop, great prices and a great experience. If I decide to do another tattoo ( I told him this was my last before we started lol ) I would definitely go back !!

Went here yesterday for a matching tattoo with my sister for her birthday. Gordie is an absolutely amazing artist! The design he came up with as well as the tattoos were absolutely perfect! The shop is a super clean environment and he goes the extra mile to make sure that everything is super sanitary. The shop environment is absolutely wonderful, and super welcoming! Can’t wait to get more work done by him 😊

I want to preface by saying that I am not a tattoo virgin. I had 7 tattoos (including a full sleeve) before contacting Gordie to get started on a thigh piece. Our consultation went well. He seemed excited to design an underwater piece for me. He told me to send the deposit along with inspiration photos of what I like or don’t like to help give him a better idea of what I want.

I sent him an email with about 10 photos and explained what styles I liked and things that I didn’t like from pieces that I have seen. I also sent along a little sketch of the elements that I was hoping to include.

The day of the appointment Gordie let me know that he had lost my email so we talked over some of the elements that I had mentioned. After 90 minutes of waiting, he had an image to show me. It was a stock AI image which he had slightly altered by adding a few sea creatures. He hadn’t done any of the drawing himself. I pointed out a few things that I wasn’t fond of, but he assured me he could fix those things as we go.

20 minutes later (almost 2 hours into the appointment), I finally had the stencil on and we were ready to start.

Things started well, but shortly into the tattoo, I started to have involuntary muscle twitches and spasms. I apologized profusely, as I couldn’t stop it from happening. At one point, he laughed through it and said I was his second worst client thus far.

As the appointment continued, I was not bothered with the pain. I was sitting still, not fidgeting at all, but my leg continued to twitch and jump when he hit certain areas. We tried to switch positions, and it just didn’t help. He continued to get more frustrated and finally stood up and said he needed a break and went outside.

When he came back in 10 minutes later, he smelled of weed. He turned the music (which was already pretty loud) even louder and started again.

He made a comment about how I was able to sit through a foot tattoo, but couldn’t sit through this. I tried to explain that I normally sit like a rock. The foot tattoo sucked! But I was able to sit through the pain without even a flinch. This was completely involuntary.

At the two hour mark he gave up and said we should continue a different day because the nerves in my leg were so sensitive at that point that even just wiping my leg was causing me to jump. He informed me that I would be charged the 3 hr minimum for the 2 hours of work he did. (on top of the $100 deposit that I had already paid).

He wiped my leg and wrapped it up, making sure to let me know that he deserved a 5 star review when he was able to pull off a piece considering I was (upgraded to) his worst client ever.

The stencil was still on under the saniderm. My whole leg was purple from the stencil dye. .It was hard to tell what was tattooed on because it was so purple. A few days later when we took off the saniderm, I was finally able to see what was left. I was devastated.

The entire experience was awful. I understand that I was a difficult client (involuntarily) and I apologized for my part. However, the lack of professionalism from beginning to end was awful.

There were many moments that I should have stopped and walked out, including right at the beginning when he had nothing prepared for our appointment, but I had seen photos of his work and heard good reviews and I was excited to start this piece.

Maybe it was just an off day for him, but from beginning to end, I felt uncomfortable, and what I am left with after 2 hours work is appalling. I have been in contact with another artist and we are going to work together to cover this mess.

Gord does amazing work. I would recommend him to anyone. He recently did a family of lions on my leg and it is absolutely fantastic. Clean shop. Great atmosphere.
