We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room had a large walk-in shower which was great. Lots of attention to the 'mermaid' theme was present throughout the property and room. The outdoor kitchen has a roof and is pretty neat. There was lots of coffee and tea in the morning, along with fruit, egg sandwiches and some delicious banana bread. Each room has a nice deck area which looks out into the cedar woods behind the Inn. Our hosts were very friendly and pleasant. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed 2 nights at the Mermaid Inn in October and it was truly a wonderful experience ! Robin and Jim are so welcoming and our room was incredible. They gave us many tips to enjoy the peninsula and we had a great chat ! The house itself makes you want to stay there all day because of how peaceful and comfortable it is : and the breakfast is really yummy as well ! We would definitely stay here again 🌞

This is an amazing location with a wonderful person. You can walk to the national park, and you can also walk to downtown, you do not need to drive. That helps a lot. You’re not scrambling for parking and you don’t have to pay for parking with this location and the host is outstanding, we have gone two years in a row and stayed at the mermaid Inn. I’m really glad that I did. Yvette goes out of her way to make sure you have a special experience. I was thrilled that I could go back and get the same loft.

I can’t say enough good things about the Mermaid Inn.
We’re halfway through our two night stay and I wish we could stay longer.
Location is perfect you can walk into town to the marina in five minutes. This town is so small you could leave your car here the entire stay and walk everywhere. The Inn provides free bicycles if you’d rather cycle. Yvette the innkeeper seems very sweet and helpful. Although right on the highway, we weren’t bothered by any noise. Grounds are lovely and Yvette lights a campfire to sit around in the evening (although we were too exhausted from miles of hiking yesterday to participate.) There are a variety of restaurants walking distance (basically right across the road) and the grocery store is there too if you’d rather prepare your own food. There is a little covered outdoor kitchen with morning coffee and snacks available.
This Inn is so much more charming than a chain hotel or an average roadside motel, with comparable pricing. It feels more like a cottage, perfect for the outdoor/woodsy feel of the area. We will definitely return next summer as it’s an ideal spot to take advantage of all the outdoor beauty in Tobermory.

A Wonderful Place!||Tobermory is a beautiful destination, though it's worth noting that accommodations can be pricey due to its popularity and the short summer season. That said, The Mermaid Inn is an absolute gem!||The inn has a cozy, hippie guest house vibe with charming mermaid and outdoorsy decorations. There are chairs and swings on the patio, an outdoor kitchen, and free bikes for guests to use. The innkeeper, Yvette, is incredibly friendly and always ready with great tips for exploring the area.||While the breakfasts are modest, with options like toast, bagels, cereal, coffee, and yogurt, we found it easy to supplement with our own additions. There are also plenty of places to eat nearby during the summer.||We stayed in the room above the garage, which is perfect for guests with dogs since it's separate from the main cabin. The room was spacious, adorable, and the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. It also had a small bathroom, a kitchenette, and a tiny outdoor patio.||Our five-night stay was fantastic, and we can't wait to return. Make sure to book well in advance (we booked in March for a July stay) and secure your parking for tourist spots. We highly recommend visiting the Halfway Log Dump, Grotto, Little Cove, and Lion's Head hike/lookout. For dinner, our favorite spots were the Brewery, Crow's Nest Pub, and Coconut Joe's.
