This was a great "Thrift" 4 years ago. Now this place charges "2nd Hand" prices. The difference between the two is a Thrift is all free donations and the other is priced higher due to the store purchasing items and mark up for profit.

The Most *Expensive* Thrift Store In Duncan I Wouldn't Even Call Them A Thrift Store. They Don't Think About Low Income Family's With There High Prices. It's Ridiculous🤦 I Remember When They First Opened They where Affordable Reasonable But Now Holy 🦬 💩 Not Worth My Nickel And Dimes 🤦

Small triftstor but complete, one of those places were you can find exactly what are you looking for but very often you end Up buying anything else. The personnel is always smiling and willing to help. Diez quintines.

This is by far the cleanest and most organized thrift store I've ever been in. Very well managed with lots of great volunteers working there..

I stopped in today to pick up some buttons. I have shopped at this thrift store for years and have always been treated with respect.
Today however was a different story. I placed my sets of buttons ( usually 4 in a small bag) in the counter. The gentleman said as he rang them in, “ 2 @ $2.50”. I said, excuse me, but they are 25 cents each. He thrust the bag under my nose and said” what does that look like to you.” I said, “ a cent sign” he tells me no, I am wrong that it’s a zero…so 25 became 2.50. Well, if I could afford to pay that much for 4 buttons I would have gone to the fabric store and bought brand new ones.
I took the buttons I had that were marked 25 cents and tossed them onto the counter, maybe a little too hard I will admit as they did slide. He reprimanded me and I apologized and said I didn’t intend to toss them that hard. He. Rang up my other buttons marked 50 cents, ( thank god they weren’t $5!). I paid and left.
I have to say, I was a little shocked as I have never had anything remotely happen to me like this in the Sassy Lion before.
Disappointed. I’m going to give them a miss for awhile.

Set up a time for furniture donation 2 weeks in advance. Was told I would get a call the morning of around 10am to set up a time for pick up. “Day of” rolls around and I get a call as promised (0938). I said that I was currently at the store and i would be back in 20-30 minutes and was told they were on their way NOW....I said could they hold hold off until I returned, woman BLUNTLY SAID NO.

Clearly they don’t need good donations. Called later that day to enquire where their profits end up. Informed that they are NOT for profit (good) but gut hung up on when enquired about if their profits go to aboriginal causes.will not donate to or shop at this organization ever again.

A great find for my friend for Christmas…plus I was really silly when I left the house with a thin jacket on so after finding my friend’s gift, I turned around to see a warm cozy hoody for $7 !! Some days everything just seems to go your way and the Sassy Lion was my happy place today!!
